Biggest Grammys Since 2001??!

Bruno Mars Says Lots Of Viewers

We completely agree that it was the biggest in terms of how awesome it was, and it turns out that it was also the biggest in terms of numbers!!

This was the BEST Grammys show in a long time!!

According to the preliminary Nielson ratings, the show brought in a staggering 26.5 MILLION viewers last night! Wow!

And that's up 3% from last year! When we're talking numbers that big, 3% is a huge jump!

Congrats to all the winners and performers last night! It was incredible, and with that kind of viewership, you guys can be extra-proud!

Did U watch??

You can thank Mick Jagger for that.

  2. 2

So excited to see Bruno Mars on there!!!

  3. 3

It was pretty good except for the x-long performance of Emminen's screaming act otherwise was a good show !

  4. 4

I don't really care about the viewship stats - I thought it was boring and typical - not a fan.

  5. 5

The opening show with the women was amazing. I had to tune out after that………not everybody can agree on the same tv show round here……..
those are 3 of the most unattractive "men" I've ever seen in showbiz………………

  6. 6

I have not watched the Grammy's in years.
They do not respect the will of the people.

    Huge snoozefest.

  9. 9

    It's Nielsen, not Nielson.

  10. 10

It's far too long, and they had about 70 performances and it seemed like they only handed out 4 awards. It was so boring.

  11. 11

The tribute to Aretha Franklin, Mick Jagger, Bruno Mars and Eminems performance were the best in my opinion.

  12. 12

good idea to hand out most of the awards before the show and mainly focus on performances. Still have no interest in watching though.

  13. 13

I don't care what the rating say. That was the worst Grammys AWARD show. I thought the point of the AWARD show was to show the AWARDS being given out and RECEIVED by the winner. There were only a handful of AWARDS given out on the live show the winners were no shock (besides the last award). It was ALWAYS the person/group that performed live earlier in the show. After it took an hour to give out the 1st award, i was out! I only watched and waited for the performance by RiRi, Enimen, Dr Dre..

  14. 14

helll no, who cares about all these career shows and dumb tv shows.

  15. 15

Totally boring. Especially seeing some tranny acting like she's Madonna by singing her song and dancing really badly. Katy Perry completely out of tune, Bruno Mars trying to act like he's at the Apollo, Bob Dylan attempting to sing, Rhianna proving she can't sing worth crap. Pretty boring in my opinion.

Muse and Arcade Fire kicked ass. So did Mick Jaggar. Cee-lo Green was good although I still don't understand why Gwyenth had to be there.

  16. 16

Got caught up on the performances this morning. EXCELLENT night! Best in a long time! Bruno Mars, of course, stole the night! Rihanna next, and I can't stand the biotch. Most lip-synched, which was disappointing, and not surprising. Umm, the ROTTEN EGG's body was in top notch shape, but that's it! Katy, well, was simply okay.

  17. 17

Oh, and Justin Bieber performing with Will Smith's snot-nosed kid was stupid. Just confirmed what a teeny bopper Bieber really is!

  18. 18

BRUNO MARS is H.O.T. and, damn, can that man sing and perform!

  19. 19

I watched the last half after all the new cartoons were over (Simpsons, Fam Guy, etc) but the half I watched seem much much better than it has been in years past. I loved most the parts I saw. I did miss Gags's performance (sumthin tells me i've seen it before back in '89) but i love her nonetheless. AND MUPPETS!! I think muppets should be in every award show w/ Cee Lo!!!!! And is just me or did it look like MICK JAGGER was trying to kick the ass of that guitar player on stage??? some funny shit. I thought is was a good show.

  20. 20

PS…although I do enjoy looking at Katy Perry I don't think she can sing her way out of a bucket. She is really really bad to me. Seems like she just hollars. But she's soooo colorful and ya know how much stoners like shiny, colorful thangs. hehehe.

  21. 21

Well, just because a lol of people watched don't mean it was the best show in a long time. I watched and was thinking "This is so disappointing" which i'm sure was what millions of other people were thinking.

  22. 22

i mostly only tuned in for the eminem part :D

I'm not much for babies, but your baby avatar is too precious for words.
If she's your baby, you're a lucky lady.

  24. 24

Usually after a Grammy show I want to re-look at some of the performances or purchase the album of some group or person that performed. No so much this year. As a matter of fact, there wasn't anyone that left a lasting impression on me other than Best New Artist Esperanza Spalding and I loved the energy from Mick Jagger, oh and Barbara Striesand, I think she could have given more of herself and sang her ass off but she was playing it safe.

  25. 25

    Re: LizardKinG – So true.

  26. 26

Half the audience probably had no idea who Bob Dylan was. It's a shame Mick Jagger and Dylan couldn't be immortal.

  27. @v@ says – reply to this

Jagger, Streisand and Dylan would have boosted those numbers.
I thought all of the performances were great, Beiber & Usher esp., included. Muse/Uprising was impressive ear candy. Looooved Bruno, and Cee Lo bends it.

  28. 28

its because of Lady Gaga & Rihanna & Katy Perry…wrong photos

  30. 30

I watched for one reason, and one reason only…MUSE! And they rocked the house.

  31. 31
