Paula Abdul "Devastated" Over Dance Show Cancellation

Paula Abdul's got a sad face on.

Though it has yet to be officially confirmed by the network, sources are claiming that Paula's reality show, Live To Dance, will not be renewed for a second season. (Considering that some of you might be asking yourselves exactly when did the first season air, we suspect the decision was warranted.)

But we actually feel kind of bad because sources are reporting that Paula is “devastated” by the news. She's reportedly been locked up in her house in El Lay all weekend, after getting the call on Friday that the show's been canned. A source close to forever our girl explains:

“Paula kept hoping week after week that her show would pick up new viewers, but each week the ratings trailed off. It ended with only a little more than 4 million viewers watching the final… way too few for CBS to keep Paula’s dream dance show alive. "

Whomp, whomp.

But you know, there is a silver lining to this. With this Dance out of the way, you're free to do other projects … like X Factor!

Huh? That'd be kinda fun, right?! (We know it would be for us!)

Simon - make that call!

I am so tired of dance, singing and anything goes type talent shows. Boring, Boring! I know they're cheap to produce but some originality would be great.

That would totally kill X Factor for me. It would be too much of a regression of time. Paula should focus on new (other) projects. Go make cameos on sitcoms for a bit. Leave Simon to interact with new faces.

if they put the show on in the summer, it probably would have did better

That show was very disappointing anyway. I expected better dancers..all in all it was a big, fat meh

id still rather see her than jennifer on AI….but her and simon have a chemistry…she would be good for x factor….would love to see her/…. btw 4mill viewers isnt enough?? thats a lot of ppl

Love the girl but the show was boring.

that show was a joke. I mean come on, how many dance shows can one television have?

Oops!!! I didn't realize her show was on the air yet.

Wasn't she offered a seat on the judge pannel for the mega-popular "So You Think You Can Dance"? And then she decided to do this show instead? Well, now it's failed so I think Paula should really go with a hit show, not a new show. SYTYCD will be on for a few more years (at least). And Paula, please don't take Cheryl Cole's seat on The X Factor…PLEASE.

The show was a total borefest and the announcer was really, really, really annoying. Couldn't understand one word that came out of his mouth, the dancers were well not good. It was just annoying and boring. After giving it a fair chance I couldn't watch it. Won't miss it.

I loved, loved, loved this show!!!! I was happy to watch it instead of Idol (which I stopped watching years ago because the contestants suck and their careers usually tank anyways). I hope they don't cancel it. It was nice watching all age groups and varieties of dance. So much better than SYTYCD because on that show you have to be an expert in all types of dance. Paula's show celebrated the people who concentrated on their passion. It was amazing and 4 million viewers is still a good haul, if you ask me. I think they'd be stupid to cancel it, but they need to air it in a time slot that is not against shows like Idol. Give it a chance, at least!!

4 MILLION PEOPLE watching the show isn't ENOUGH for them?! You gotta be kidding me!!!!! I absolutely loved this show!!! I hope Paula joins Simon on X Factor!!! I'm addicted to Paula and her smile, she can't just disappear from TV!!!!!

I'd have watched more if her comments didn't trail on and on with no Simon Cowell to cut her off.
