We're not sure if any of this is true, but if it is, then BLAH!
Sources are reporting that Baz Luhrmann has not only signed a deal to shoot his adaptation of the iconic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, The Great Gatsby, not only in Sydney, Australia, but also to have it produced in 3D!
Filming will reportedly begin at Sydney's Fox Studios in August, and will take place over the course of 17 weeks, with 30 weeks of post-production.
WTF? All we can ask is - why and WHY?!
For a film with such beloved source material, we would assume that they would want to keep the production as authentic as possible, and film on-location!
Not to mention in 3-effing-D? Seems like such unnecessary spectacle for this kind of production!
We normally love the creativity and the loud, stunning aesthetics that Luhrmann brings to his movies, but we hope that he will also be respectful of the original work and do it justice - without going OVERBOARD and sacrificing the novel's integrity!
What do U think?? Are U looking forward to The Great Gatsby??
