So sad.

Check out the news report (above) about four Americans who were killed today, after being taken hostage on their private yacht by Somali pirates.

This is truly awful and disturbing! We hope the guilty parties are brought to justice.

Our thoughts go out to the victims' family and friends.

    Who cares

  2. 2

ok, this is terrible news - however - we know this sort of thing happens, so DON'T GO THERE, stay where you know the seas are safe.

  3. 3

i'm sorry this happened to them but why the fuck were they sailing around there anyways. pirate attacks in the area have been going on for years. a little too much american bravado?

  4. 4

    Stupid Rich People…..

  5. 5

They were with a flotilla of ships that were taking a safe route when they decided to INTENTIONALLY PLACE THEMSELVES IN DANGER.

The rest of the flotilla was just fine since they took a safe route.

Our 'heroes' on the other hand…

    Death Wish.

  6. 6

if Somalians hate Americans, and they are known for capturing people against their will then common sense should kick in.

  7. 7

They shouldn't have been there in the first place! That area is known as a risk for pirate hijackings. What happened to them is terrible, but they should've known better than to bring their boat there

People, get a fucking clue. Haters are blaming them because they are rich, because they own a yacht, because they shouldnt' have been in the area they were in… What is wrong with you people. These are fellow citizens who have probably worked hard and earned their right to travel as they please. You all sound like jealous, insensitive morons. I always heard that Americans are self absorbed and this display of ignorance from this 'comment pool' does nothing to negate this conception :(

  10. 10

Bonga Chik: Traveling where you please went out when George Bush was voted in.

  11. 11

Re: Candy Barr – Oh shut up. I suppose everything is Bush's fault. While this is truly sad, it was on THEM. They should not have been where they were. Oh, and do you have proof that these pirate attacks picked up because of Bush? I want some stone cold facts here. If not, you will just be another dumb ass liberal spouting off at the mouth with nothing to back it up.

Re: bonga chik – There is no doubt that they had the right to travel where they pleased, but it's an issue of common sense. If you knowingly enter a dangerous area on your own volition, then you have to accept whatever risk accompanies that decision. You wouldn't run head first into..say…a wall of fire, would you? If you did, that would be your decision and you would have to live (or die) with the consequences.

I do feel for the people, but they knowingly entered the dangerous waters against the advice/warnings of their family and friends. They took a very dangerous risk and lost.

Re: Candy Barr – RIGHT ON!

  14. 14

I dont care, if someone is stupid enough to be in this area which is known to be dangerous then they deserve what they got. Like those idiots that where hiking on the Iranian border, they just should not have been there.

  15. 15

Americans traveling in a danger zone with bibles what could possibly happen?

  16. 16

I just read that one of the American couples had been sailing around the world since 2004 handing out bibles - is pushing your religious bullshit worth dying for, I don't think so

  17. 17

fucking somalians are ugly and crazy…the so called men are, the women are gorgeous…

  18. 18

TELL YA WHAT, IF I GO INTO MY LOCAL GHETTO AREA AND YELL THE "N" WORD I DESERVE WHAT I GET. THOSE RICH PEOPLE AND THEIR BIBLES WENT INTO KNOWN PIRATE INFESTED WATERS, THEN HAD THE BALLS TO USE USA RESOURCES AND THEY ENDED UP DEAD ANYHOW. WTF THAT THEY TOOK LIKE 15 OF THE PIRATES UNDER ARREST? THOSE FUCKERS WILL LIVE BETTER IN A FUCKING PRISON THAN THEY WOULD IN SOMALIA!

  19. 19

Re: Revolennon – Point both well taken and well said.

  20. 20

Justice? Somalia has no government! It's libertarian/conservative paradise! You compete for personal and clan power and low man on the totem pole always loses out.

  21. 21

No major media outlets are telling the truth about this… They were all christian missionaries, trying to hand out bibles in an area controlled by muslim pirates. My first question is: WTF are you doing in such hostile area. #2?: Why are you trying to spread your religion… keep it to yourself. I'm not saying anyone deserved to die, but common sense should pop in to your head every now and then, and tell you to stay the hell outta Somalia! I guess their god didn't love them as much as they thought….

Time to start sinking““““` small vessels “““` YO!!

  23. 23

you people are so retarded !! Blaming the AMERICAINS here !!! Really ??!!! It wasnt very smart of them to be there but the world should be safe for EVERYONE , the world belongs to EVERYONE !!!!!!!! the SOMALIS are wrong here VERY wrong

  24. 24

Re: Brittany Smith Rankin – lol but seriously bush did ruin everything.

  25. 25

Sad but come on dangerous territory. Why would they risk that by going into those waters!

  26. 26

Re: vanessaoksana – News flash.. The world doesn't work that way!

  27. 27

Newsflash, people died. It doesnt matter if they went somewhere they shouldnt have been, people make mistakes everyday and we cant all pretend that our common sense is 100% all the time. People were killed, its a horrible thing no one deserves that no matter what. Have some respect. Enough said.

  28. 28

Christ you people make me proud to be Canadian.

  29. 29

It is sad that these people were killed - they didn't deserve to die.
The pirate violence is kind of out of control, but they sailed through a dangerous area. I get the concept that we should all share the world and live in peace and harmony (which would be awesome), but it's a very ethnocentric idea to think that as Americans you can go wherever you damn well please without repercussion.

I can run through the deep woods covered in blood and honey if I damn well please, but it doesn't mean that I'll emerge unscathed.

Re: eveo devo – eveo deveo yea go tell that to yourself the moment u enter hell. baboosh.

  31. 31

Re: curtisbeirie – Yes! God is worth dying for. They are in a better place right now… better than America or Canada or whichever place u cud think of.

  32. 32

Re: slynns – Lol yeah, you're a complete f@cktard. Everything's better now right?? No? Oh yeah, Odumba has screwed things up more than Bush ever could have.

  33. 33

    Re: bonga chik
Although i understand what you're saying, i highly doubt we're all jealous of these people. What people are saying is that this could've been avoided by not entering Pirate infested waters. It's JUST common sense. I don't think jealousy plays a part in this equation.

  34. 34

    Re: slynns
Yes he did! We're all getting groped at the airport because of his homeland security bullshit.
And Brittany Smith Rankin, if you want proof, then look for it yourself, it won't be hard. This is how us "liberals" inform ourselves with facts, we do research for OURSELVES and then that allows us to THINK FOR OURSELVES! Give it a try, it's very refreshing. :)

    Re: Unbelievable!
    Like what??

  36. 36

Re: jcrhode – Unbelievable! is right. 'No Child Left Behind' has really helped him/her/it.
