Earlier today, we reported that certain long-running soaps on the ABC network were in trouble and could be heading towards a cancellation to make room for new programming.

Upon hearing the reports, a rep from the Daytime Division of the network insisted to sources that there was "nothing to comment on" and that these reports are based on old news added with new speculation.

So, the long and short of it seems to be that your stories are safe…for now.

They are lying they have been systematically strangling the soaps for several years…Brian Frons, who is head of ABC Daytime is the WORST!!!!

I use to watch them all faithfully. From the time I was 2 With Y&R. It is time for them to be taken off. They are soooo far out there anymore. Though I do have to give props to OLTL they are dealing with the bullying with the teens. GH is like 24 meets the god father.

Frons ruined ABC Daytime. They are also seeing the success of "The Talk" and the path they could be going down . Shame, internet, video games and premium cable channels killed the soaps.
Also, they apointed writing teams that just didn't care or were intimidated by the " Show Heads".

Much like my Grandmothers old radio from the 20's, they have gone the way of the past only to be replaced by scripted realiyu shows.
