So, we told you guys about the change in the envelopes this year at the Oscars, but it seems like that isn't the only major change to happen to the show.
The Academy Awards really seems like it's gettin' a reboot!
First and foremost, the best news of the changes has just gotta be the death of the montage. Last year they did a montage in dedication to horror movies, which was fine and all, but montages seem like they make the entire show just drag on. We're DEF glad for that.
Another good one is that there is a male and female host, and they're young!
About having a male and female host:
"There has never been a male-female duo who physically shared the same Oscar stage in the history of the broadcasts. Although plenty of actresses have shared emcee duties, they've all been part of tag-team groups of three- or four-host combos. Other opposite-sex hosts have been part of bicoastal telecasts — with one in New York and one in Los Angeles. So having a male-female duo interacting in person would be a genuine first."
Though, she'll probably end up being on the same level as him! Should be fab!
They're also bringing back the performances of nominated song, which is great, and also doing away with the relatively new addition of past winners talking about present nominees.
The testimonials made the show seem long as well, so we aren't upset they're gone!
Other things to change include having "Mominees" or the moms of nominees to live tweet the show, having a choir of children from NYC sing Over The Rainbow, and a brand new virtual reality set.
The set will rely on projections instead of tangible decorations, allowing the show to change style on the fly.
Sounds great to us!
Good luck, James and Anne!!
Will U be watching??
