Dolly Parton Does It For The Troops

Dolly Parton Thank You

As part of her effort to thank the troops who are fighting for America at home or abroad, Dolly Parton is lending her star power to the Boot Campaign.

The Boot Campaign was started by 5 texas women known as The Boot Girls, who are urging Americans to purchase a pair of army combat boots to wear in support of our troops.

The proceeds from the campaign’s signature boots go towards military charities supporting the needs of Veterans.

Dolly expressed her appreciation to America's troops in a statement, saying:

“So many people, regular folks and celebrities, send out love and sincere thanks to you for keeping us safe and fighting for our freedom. Let me add to that loving list. Thank you from the bottom of my country heart. I will always love you.”

Dolly and the Boot Girls are asking Americans to put their boots on during their day-to-day routine to symbolically walk in the shoes of our military men and women to remember their service and sacrifice.

We think this is an awesome idea for a charity and if you do too, click here to get yourself a pair of boots!

"keeping us safe and fighting for our freedom." Shame on her. Shame shame shame. Safe from what? From acceptance in the Middle East? From non-murders of innocent civilians?

hideous. I hope a grenade blasts her to smithereens.

She looks like that mask they used in the opera…

I put this on a Dolly Parton post before, and I'm gonna do it again: I was in line at Rite-Aid a few monthes back, when I happened to hear a conversation between the sales lady and another customer:
Cust.- *picks up National Enquirer w/ pic of Dolly* Wow, how old do you think Dolly Parton is now, anyway??
    S. L.- *blank stare*
Cust.- You do know who Dolly is, right??
S.L.- I think so. Wasn't she one of the Golden Girls??
((This is where I give you, the reader, a second to soak in how retarded that statement was that you just read)) Now, although this sales lady was black (as was the customer), there is no excuse for her not knowing who Dolly Parton is!! I mean, come on. I'm white, but that doesn't mean I've never heard of James Brown! This is just silly. I was SO embarrassed for that lady. She must have grown up living under a rock.

    Re: Suzanne Browning

its beacuse of the people you're talking about that you are free to rant and knife them in the back, without them your life would be very different!

Perez– I applaud you for posting a story like this. Without our VOLUNTEER military we wouldn't have such freedoms such as Freedom of Speech to have websites like yours. Dolly is an icon & it's great that she's taking a platform to say 'thank you' to the troops. Those who are just focusing on her looks, should really take a moment to stop and think about the protection afforded by our military– they didn't choose to be in this war, they're just doing their jobs of protecting YOU. Thank you, Perez. Keep on rock'n!!
