Horror Director Talks New Hellraiser And Halloween 3-D

horror director talks halloween 3d and hellraiser reboot

After Rob Zombie's unwatchable unimpressive Halloween II, we were NOT excited to hear that another Halloween film was in the works.

Fortunately, it looks like Rob Zombie won't be involved in the upcoming Halloween film, so MAYBE it won't be too bad.

Here's what horror director/Zombie's replacement Patrick Lussier had to say about Halloween 3-D, as well as his upcoming Hellraiser reboot:

"Yeah, well, [we've got] the [H3] script sitting there. We would make that in a hearbeat…[The Weinsteins'] focus has shifted onto Hellraiser, and they obviously want to focus on Scream 4…[their] sort of "slasher mind" is probably very, very focused on that film and the release of that film. So I can't really speak for them, you know?"

"I wish I had more to tell you. I know Todd and I would love to shoot that, love to shoot the script [that was] so much fun to write and delve into that Carpenter world."

Sounds like we've got a ways to go until the next Halloween, but looks like it'll def happen after Hellraiser, unless the Weinsteins decide to focus on Scream 5 by that point instead.

What upcoming horror movies are U excited for?

LAZY ASS PEOPLE NEED TO WRITE NEW SHIT!!!!!

  2. 2

I wonder why the writers can't come up with anything new??? Has it all been done?? Is that why they need to do so many remakes???

  3. 3

I agree! Hollywood has overwhelmed us with remakes-none as good as the original (with a few VERY rare exceptions).
Oh I can't wait for the Soapdish remake!!! (sarcasm)

    Dear Hollywood:
Stop beating that dead horse… it's starting to smell really bad.

Zombie is a brilliant director! you suck

I actually enjoyed Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween… I'm not one for sequels though, so the second one definitely struggled. However, he did do a great job in describing the origin of Michael Myers.

More importantly, haven't we, as a society, had enough of 3D movies? Am I the only one who believes 2D movies are just as great/better than 3D? I'm growing tired of remakes as well. Is there nothing else to write about?

Yuck. 3D sucks, especially for horror movies! It's cool if you're a kid, but adults don't fancy it as much. I think they should just leave Halloween alone where it is or else it's gonna end up the last Halloween franchise, 8 movies that go on and on. I've never seen Hellraiser, so I guess I'll look forward to that one. I love the classics but the only reason I like the remakes is to see how the story and images can relate to today.

I agree… the first RZ Halloween was alright, the second was one of if not the worst movie I have ever tried to watch in my life. However, I dont think Scream 4 is a remake at all, and I think it will make the Weinsteins a billion or even trillion bucks, they would be straight up foolish not to make Scream 5 AND 6!

These people moaning about remakes!boring just watch the orignal movies then and let other people watch the remakes! its not like their isnt both:S
I like the orignals and I like when hollywood comes up with new fresh films but I also like alot of the remakes!

I liked the halloween remake the second wasnt as good but still watchable but I think the nightmare on elm street/friday the 13 remakes were very good and I thought the TCSM was even better than the orignals!

I'd rather have new remakes than no new halloween films ect but I thought the nightmare remake was better done and I dont think Rob Zombie films are ever very good,so maybe the 3rd will be better without him!

But the orginals are just too dated for the younger generation so they have to remake for them but if you like your orignals then stick to them-SIMPLE!
Wish they would stop with the 3d crap though!

I love Rob Zombie and his directorial style. He's innovative and takes an original story line and puts his own spin on it with his traditional gory style.
I do agree though that it's enough with the damn remakes and sequels. What happened to originals???

  11. 11

They could make 'Hellraiser' work maybe…. but c'mon, I agree they should write and generate some new material.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I'm REALLY shocked no one has decided to remake the exorcist… Unless the studio isn't selling the rights to it or something. I've been waiting for like Rob Zombie to pick it up ever since he did his first Halloween.

I hope they find a way to get Daeg Faerch in the new Halloween movie!
