Major League Producer Says Charlie Sheen Is Being "Difficult"

This is such surprising news.

Charlie Sheen being difficult?? Of course not!!!

No, but seriously, looks like Charlie may lose yet another job.

Major League producer James Robinson says that he would love to have Charlie join the sequel to his film, but with Charlie's latest outbursts and crazy behavior, he's not sure what the future holds for his film. And without Charlie, the film just won't happen.

Robinson explains:

"He's a talented person. What a waste. What a shame. I don't know where he's going right now. I don't know where he's going to end up.

He's very important to the movie. I can't tell you for sure [if we'll cancel it], but I can only say that his character, and him playing that character, is very prominent. So that could be a possibility."

When asked if he would replace Charlie in the role of Rick "Wild Thing" Vaughn in the third sequel, Robinson says:

"It never occurred to me to have anyone but him play the character that we wrote for him. He's not in the film yet because we don't have a deal with him yet. Our respective representatives have had dialogue but I haven't talked to him. His part is absolutely in the script and he is very prominently part of the story."

Having worked with Lindsay Lohan on Georgia Rule, Robinson is no stranger to working with troubled stars. He explains that Charlie needs to shape up before he could even consider putting him in the film. He adds:

"Both sides of the contract always have obligations. If it's obvious, or we believe he can't perform, then it would be stupid to put him in the film if he would have difficulty filming that role. There's been very few times I've ever had an actor that couldn't perform.

He was good to work with. I'm an optimist. He's being a little difficult right now, and I understand that. I'm sure he's got his demons torturing him. I sincerely hope there's a way he can come out of this dark tunnel. But it appears that, so far, he's either not following whatever treatment should be administered or it's not working. I frankly don't know which it is."

It's probably a combination of both, honestly. It's pretty obvious that Charlie isn't exactly following the rules of treatment and if he is, well then, something else needs to be done because it's obviously not working.

It's too bad because we actually would have enjoyed seeing Charlie go back to his old Major League character.

Thoughts??

The ONLY reason he got a break is because his father was famous (like most actors today).

  2. 2

YOU PRODUCERS.ENCOURAGING THIS MORON WILL BACKFIRE..THE PUBLIC NOW JUST FEEL DISCUSTED BY SHEEN AND WOULD STAY AWAY IN DROVES…..GIVE THE PART TO SOMEONE DESERVING…CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR.YOU SEEM TO BE BUYING SHEENS BULLCRAP!!!

  3. 3

Is Charlie Sheen going to be the next outcast in Hollywood, after Mel Gibson?

  4. 4

Seems the blacklisting has already started. Sheen had every right to say what he did about Lorre, look up that douche's history w/his sitcom stars.
Hollywood needs to stop kissing the producer's ass and stick w/the talent onscreen that makes them the bucks they love.

It's the fourth film in that franchise, not third. Major League, Major League 2, and Major League Back to the Minors.

Charlie has major major mental issues that need to be addressed asap. It is time for family and court to intervene.

it looks to me like Robinson is just using this publicity to promote the movie.. if this is where his next paycheck is coming from then why wouldn't he get this in the news as much as possible.. there are tons of high profile actors that are difficult to deal with Charlie wouldn't be the first

Once upon a time, divas like Sheen were uninsurable by the studios. With his record for destructive behavior, how can he possibly get coverage?

    Re: PixiePeet – like miley

Charlie seems to have forgotten that he was an A-list movie star until the Heidi Fleiss trial. Like it or not, your popularity and success depends partly on how you're perceived off screen. If it wasn't for Michael J Fox having Parkinsons, he would still be doing straight to dvd garbage.

Stick a fork in him…………..Charlie is done.

Now I'm going to go to bed and cry at the loss of such a great talent. I've been a 2 &1/2 fan since the beginning.

Charlie may think that's he's the "Golden Cup", but I promise you it's his co-stars.

Shame, Shame on you Charlie for denying these wonderful, talented folks their very livelihood. Now I'll cry.

Re: PixiePeet – agree, he has a mental problem but he is out of control.

Who in the hell would even want to see another one in this series? The first one was great, the second one sucked, and I refused to see the third because the second one was so bad. Twenty years later they want to do a fourth one?

Re: OhBigDeal – I would hardly call that blacklisting. Really, Robinson's quotation was a model of generosity, understatement, and concern, under the ongoing circumstances.

Go Charlie! Write the book. Your babysitter in New York City has her dress up for sale on Ebay. Seems she has problems getting enough attention to pay the rent.

Charlie is the only person on the planet who thinks he's a-okay. If that ever happens to you, seek help immediately!!

Okay, so they wrote a character for Charlie Sheen. We all know Charlie is a one-character actor (like Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow and a host of others). It seems to me that in Hollywood there is a plethora of very good lead actors and good character actors who could pretty much be any character in a script if only the powers that be would have the balls to deviate from the A list or the "big draws." Charlie is seriously mentally unstable and no matter how many coworkers said he is nothing but professional on the job, he's a flaming hot mess and I wonder if a project could even be insured with him as a headliner as he is now.

THE STINKMASTER! BBD would smell Chuck's finger!

Re: OhBigDeal – righhhhtt, but the producers are paying so as long as they are footing the bill Hollyweird will KISS their (_(_)'s!! LOL!

  21. 21

He really needs to get his life in order ! a very talented actor… !

  22. 22

I think Major League has run it's course anyways…no need for anymore!

  23. 23

I read this article thinking that perhaps Charlie had done something else to be difficult. It turns out this was really a non story and a rehash of the problems that Charlie has had over the past month that we've already knew about. Way to be deceiving Mario

  24. 24

Re: Michmasterflex – PEOPLE BRINGING HIM DOWN? AMAZING HOW KNOW ONE WANTS TO PUT IT SQUARELY ON CHARLIE..I SUGGEST YOU GET USED TO HIS PASSING..BECAUSE AS AN I.C.U NURSE ,HE LIKELY ALREADY HAS IRREPAIRABLE BRAIN DAMAGE..&..I DON,T TRUST HIS THOUGHT PROCESS,I,D BE VERY AFRAID IF I WERE THE EX WIVES..YOUR CHILDREN NEED SECURITY…

  25. 25

partially disagree with mac14 - I think they are good words from the producer - sounds straight-forward & honest.

  26. 26

…meanwhile, back in the bahamas, an icechest full of coke has just been delivered….stay tuned……

  27. 27

obviously hollywood is moving on from sheen and his bs. he is in denial, and the more he acts out, the more he pushes people away. it is disturbing that this man is a father, and is acting this way. i hope for his and his family's sake that he gets the help he needs eventually.

I would never watch anything he is in again… I'm tired of Hollywood rewarding crazy people. It's sick!!!!!!!

    I'm over it.

  29. 29

Most actors complain of playing the same characters for fear of being typecast, not Sheen - because he's NOT ACTING. Only Sheen plays more lovable a-holes that the lizard he is in real life. Little baby… complaining about his cold coffee at 9pm at night… boo hoo. For that many $MIL, I'd drink cold coffee out of Bear Gryll's BUTT at 9pm at night.

I kind of think he's staying sober, but he's pissed off about it. No one is going to offer to continually do drug testing — unless it's someone elses "specimen" if they aren't staying away from the drugs. I just think he's pissed because he's been given no option and that doesn't say a lot about continuing sobriety
