Hey! What Happened To The Grease Number, Anne & James?!

| Filed under: Anne HathawayJames FrancoOscars

Oh, here it is!

Days before the Oscars, James Franco posted a brief video featuring Anne Hathaway and himself dressed as Sandy and Danny from Grease. We thought we were seeing a glimpse of what was to come of their opening monologue, but then it never happened.

Seems like the bit was cut, but not to worry - we have it for your here!

Check out this bonus footage from the pair's opening monologue (above)!

It's quite obvious why it was cut - question is though…why would they even shoot this footage knowing what he sounded like in the studio? Who greenlit this mess? It's money literally going down the toilet.

    Good call. (to cut it)

  3. 3

Enough with James Franco. That guy is overexposed ! Take a vacation will you…

  4. 4

    I love Grease!!
But I gotta admit James is not a good singer.

What a mess. What a waste of money. All involved should be publicly flagellated and hung outside the Kodak Theatre.

  6. 6

He sounds terrible, and the song sounds more like a promo than a song for the opening.

  7. 7

no wonder it was cut!!!! AWFUL!

  8. 8

They were pathetically awful last night. The jokes were so watered down.

  9. 9

They said in an interview that it was a red herring… a distraction from what they were really doing… That's why they posted it.

  10. 10

    dumb dumb dumb!!!

  11. 11

Wow. I thought the show was as lame as it could have gotten. Good to know that there was yet another level of lame that was left untapped. Wow. That being said, Anne was really rockin' the outfit!

  12. 12

wow who knew anne had such a nice show.

    but a waste of money

  13. 13

no wonder the ratings were down…. the whole idea of having him host was BADDDDDD…!!!! Ann did a better job, she could it do it by herself and would it look much less painfull

  14. 14

It's obvious this was a promo and not intended to be in the show .

  15. 15

Franco"s voice was flat. But ann hathaway looked really hot.And then again the whole idea was pretty freaking cheesy!

  16. 16

Where was Ricky Gervais when you needed him???????????

  17. 17

    they tried…kinda fun actually

  18. 18

anne hathaway will never be funny to me. something about her just bores the shit out of me..

  19. 19

And they say Anne isn't sexy.

  20. 20

I wouldn't have helped, The Oscars were awful. He seemed loaded and she acted like high school. Bring back Billy Crystal.

    Re: jones19 – That's because she isn't.

I know what happened, it got cut because it was somehow even more terrible than the rest of their night as hosts!! Google Search keywords "The Media Jerk" to read Heartless criticism of the day's biggest celebrity news stories!!

  23. 23

Lame. I respect them both but obviously these 2 were a safe choice. They both want to be respected and famous so obviously they're not going to do over the top things.

Anne is very talented, but she's not Johnny Carson in the ad-lib department. She could be a terrific Oscar co-host if her partner were someone very funny. I'm not sure that the Oscars would be willing to hire somebody VERY funny, like Louis CK, but Jimmy Kimmel is already on the ABC payroll, and he's funny. I'm surprised that they've never tapped him.

  25. 25

    Love them both but…

  26. 26

    those two are overrated garbage

  27. 27

I loooove james franco and anne hathaway but It's so obvious why it was cut. it sucks. simple like that
