| Filed under: Music MinuteInspirationOprah WinfreyAwardzKaty PerryPS22 Chorus

What an AMAZEBALLS surprise! And so touching!

The PS 22 Chorus took the west coast by storm this weekend, performing at Disneyland, the Academy Awards, and then Oprah's Ultimate After Oscar Party!

Check out the video of the talented kids performing Firework at the event, where Katy Perry surprised everyone by joining them on stage and performing with them (above)!

The video quality isn't great, but you can still see what a truly special performance this one is!

Just stunning!

PS22 makes Katy's song sound about a billion times better.

I am just in awe of this teacher and the goodness he has instilled in these children. They really do enjoy what they're doing. Plus, they get to meet celebrities along the way. Keep Arts in the school. They did wonders for me!

Loved the kids but katie sounded like a cat in a blender. AWFUL! She's nothing without auto tune.

It was not really a surprise. Oprah, the staff and the kids knew that she was coming on. Not sure why everyone thinks that this kids are so great! They suck.

Yeah I'm sure the kids were excited to have her sing with them, but think about it…it was supposed to be their spotlight and she got on there and stole their thunder.

How is the song popular when her voice sound so horrible in it? It's painful enough to listen to the recorded version and live was even worse.

Goosebumps. It's a pistol of a song to begin with; add the kids, and the
impromptu, moving hug sincerely offered by Katy at the end, and I was misty.
