josh brolin and tim burton team up for new hunchback film

All right, Tim Burton. We'd still love you to put together another completely original project, but at least this is fantastic source material.

Tim Burton and Josh Brolin have joined forces with Warner Bros for a new film adaptation of Victor Hugo's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which is being written by Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows writers Keiran and Michele Mulroney.

Brolin will both produce and star in the film. No word yet on whether Burton will just produce, or also direct, but we'll keep an ear out.

Given the fact that he's currently busy in pre-production on Johnny Depp vampire film Dark Shadows, Burton MAY bail on the project if he's not WOWED by the script.

That being said, please impress him, Sherlock Holmes writers! We're thinking Burton is right for this project.

Are U excited for a new Hunchback film? Do U think Josh Brolin is right for Quasimodo?

I remember when animated movies were original………..little mermaid, lion king, cinderella, etc…….

Re: April 20th – Hate to break it to you but:

The Little Mermaid - Originally by Hans Christian Anderson
    Cinderella - Popular fairy tale.
The Lion King - There was something of a scandal since Disney probably ripped off the idea from another, less well known film with a similar plot and animation.

Please, if you're going to comment on originality at least name original works. As for adaptations, they can be quite enjoyable, and since each is based on how the team working on it perceived the book you can get a different delivery every time you watch a different adaptation.

I personally hope they stick to the original story.

Esmeralda was 16 (Yes, you read that correctly, 16)

    Megan Fox can't play her.

And Tim Burton is once again ruining a classic Disney movie.
