Do it! Do it!

We know people are really looking forward to the release of Original Sin in April, but new music would be even better!

INXS has revealed that they are eager to get back into the studio and record some "new material" after working on their latest album, which features "re-imagined" version of some of their older songs. Guitarist Tim Farriss reveals that his brother, Andrew Farriss, "has got vaults of songs, and he's been writing lately with JD (Fortune, INXS' frontman) and everyone's in the background going, 'Yeah! OK! Great!' "

But first things first. The boys need to get through promoting Original Sin first before they can forge ahead on a new album. Andrew seems somewhat grateful for that as he wants to make sure their new material is perfect. He explains:

"Yes, I can feel that pressure building — and I'm laughing nervously because I know where a lot of that pressure's probably going to be put. I don't take it lightly. I know there's a lot of excitement in that direction."

There sure is, but don't let that get to you. You need to concentrate on writing the best music possible Take your time. We'll wait!

They should just stop making music. They suck.

The whole band should have died along with the lead singer

Inxs n'est plus le même groupe depuis la mort de Michael. Miss him so much Hutch… So sad… Ils auraient dû prendre un chanteur de la même âge qu'eux. JD Fortune devrait faire une carrière solo car il est quand même bon… RIP MICHAEL :(

I realize Michael wasn't the entire band but the group without him just seems wrong. He was the charisma and that can't be replaced. Start a new band Farriss brothers.

It'll never work without Michael Hutchence unfortunatelyRe: icefire227 – lick my left nut and cum in hell

when did the band and michael's replacement make up? conflicting feelings about this. loved the band. understand life goes on. guess will just have to hear the new stuff and judge on its own merit. can't replace Michael. still bummed.

Sometimes a band can get a new lead singer and be fine. AC/DC and Van Halen are great examples of this (though Bon Scott was far better than the dude who replaced him … Brian Johnson sounds like a screaming smurf).

INXS is not one of those bands that can move on. I've never been a huge fan; some of there stuff is better than other stuff. But Michael Hutchence had a unique voice, and that's largely what gave INXS its sound. Sometimes lightning doesn't strike twice; it may be time for the rest of the band to retire.

Re: icefire227 – That's a little harsh, don't you think? It's one thing to dislike a band's music; it's another thing to wish them dead. I can't stand Caca and Bieber, but I don't think they should be dead just because I think they suck!

First, let me start by saying I LOVE INXS!!!
I Love Michael like you wouldn't believe, and I love the rest of the guys as well. I've had my ups and downs over my feeling regarding JD, but I must say, he pulls off the vocal better than any other person I've seen try to sing for INXS (and I've been there. I know.) I must admit, I am not a fan of the "new" Original Sin album. It left me a bit disappointed as it just seems a little "watered down inxs". HOWEVER, I LOVED Switch, so if Andrew, JD and the rest of the band can pull out more stuff like Switch, I'll be super pumped and excited for their return again. For those of you who say they should stop making music..,. Just go see them live. once. you will change your mind. they are still an amazing band who play great dance rock and if they want to continue to record and perform, who are you to tell them to stop?!

I saw the show on March 2nd, 2011 in Toronto and had a F'N fantastic time! I absolutely love JD FORTUNE's rendition of The Stairs! His spoken word style on part of this track ROCKS! This guy knows how to build an arrangement and I enjoyed every minute of it. He is HOT SAUCE! OK, yeah, I think he is easy on the eyes too, LOL!
