No More Singles From Kylie's Aphrodite, Minogue Disappointed

Bummer!
It looks like there won't be any more singles from Kylie Minogue's Aphrodite, as the fab singer explained while talking about her monster of a tour.
The problem isn't so much with the music as it is with handling the music!
How do you get singles out there, nowadays? How do you drum up the excitement for them?
Kylie says:
"Then you get Britney (Spears) releasing Hold It Against Me and Gaga's Born This Way available on iTunes the day you hear it first. That's how it should be. And there's me waiting for a mid-week chart figure like it's 1989. I was a bit disappointed by that. I didn't know how to gauge the success of the singles. How do you measure it now?"
That's a pretty good point, bb.
She continued:
"It's confusing. I felt a little let down with my releases from Aphrodite. I was caught out like a lot of artists were, with record companies figuring out how to do single releases these days.
"I remember doing a promo for one of the last singles and it just felt really old-fashioned. I'm pretty computer-savvy, something didn't feel right, but no one said anything to me."
It sucks to see you so down about it! Maybe it's time to get a new team behind you and your strategies??
Because you DEF still got it in the music and performance departments!!
Give us a call when you're in town, Kylie!
Thoughts on miss Minogue's single troubles??

GaGa Goes Crowdsurfing In Toronto!
GaGa Performs Born This Way With YouTube Sensation Maria Aragon!

music video music video MUSIC VIDEO!!! I didnt really care for Brits song UNTIL she made her music video and gagas video maybe completely crazy BUT it increased her sells on her single. These days its not about selling an entire album because its rare that anyone buys an complete album; its about selling your singles!! You release the song and then you release the vid and once you do that you blast it all over the tv and web!! thats how you sell a record in the 21st century!
Kylie, your fans have been telling you this for the last few albums. This is why your albums do well, but your singles don't as much. You need to have the song on iTunes the DAY you announce it'll be a new single. You need to have the hard copy, the day you announce it'll be the new single. You need to have the video already made, ready for the rest of the promotion. Things aren't like they used to be in the 80s and 90s, you don't have a build up anymore, you need to have it NOW.
Get outta my way wasn't released as a proper single for MONTHS after you started performing it. The video also took months. You can't do it like that anymore!
ASTRALWERKS/CAPITOL SUCKS, THEY HAVE ZERO IDEA AT MAKING HER A STAR IN THE STATES, THEY HAVE ALL THE MATERIALS BUT ARE TOO LAZY TO MAKE IT WORK…KYLIE NEEDS SOMEONE FOCUSING ON HER CAREER IN THE USA…THESE PEOPLE ARE A JOKE…EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS SO BADLY TIMED…ALSO, YOU GO TO BILLBOARD…SHE'S HAD 3 NUMBER ONES CONSECUTIVELY ON THE DANCE CHARTS WITH 2 IN THE TOP 3 THIS WEEK AND THEY HAVE NO INFO ON HER…SHE SHOULD FIRE THEM.
It makes me sad to see her so sad, I love Kylie! Singles are most important these days. You need everything ready the day you release it now. It's about instant gratification now.
This sucks! "Closer" would be a perfect single!
Yeah not sure what to say. Maybe she needs a new team or something. Could be record company politics though. Also there's a lot of dance divas with Britney, Gaga, Rhianna, Kesha out there so it might be just overcrowded right now.
I'm not surprised, seeing as her last two singles haven't done well [on the UK charts, where she's most marketable]. But it's very true that her team isn't good at promoting her singles. I remember she performed "Better Than Today" on The X Factor, like, a month before it was actually released as a single. How is that good promotion?
kylie strikes me as one of the sweet, genuine, angelic people in show business. I honestly believe that her good nature repeals the corrupt music industry. chin up kylie, we still love you!!!!
u need to kiss perez ass as hes the one promoting the others on his site and everything hes touching is turning to gold he has the slow brewing turd saying its coming its coming then OUT IT COMES AND YAY then everyone downloads it
and yes listen to what the others are saying if its not ready to download how easily the excitement dies out .. has to be right there ready to go.
Poor Kylie. I didn't like All The Lovers so I didn't buy it and then I bought Aphrodite so I didn't buy Get Outta My Way or Better Than Today even though I loved both of them so I didn't contribute toward one single charting even though I loved them. I love Kylie and I really hope she does another 20 albums
Re: pie107 – she made music videos for this album!
All The Lovers was quiet successful here in Germany.
Maybe, just maybe your music just isn't that great or catching on with potential new fans? And you should thank your label to the high heavens. I've at least heard some of your latest album where I haven't for years….and I'm not even in your demographic. The American market is obsessed with youth and there's little room for anyone else in the pop world. Madonna has a break out single every once in a while because radio thinks they have to put everything of hers into high rotation because it's just what they do…it's Madonna. Just be thankful you have a huge international audience and be happy you at least have a niche in America - most artists can't even claim that.
Time to move away from Parlophone. They are pathetic. The song hits radio about 1 to 1/12 months before it's available to download - just no good!!!
Plenty more singles should be release from the album, they're some real stonkers on their. But, Parolophone decide to 'give away' 'Too Much' in the Daily Mail, and then have insufficient promotion of the others.
I mean, for gods sake, 'Get outta my way' should have been at number 1!!!
Re: Adam Lewis – wow…i live in the us and have never seen or heard one, maybe thats just me
Re: funkbunny – Totally agree about Get Outta My Way. I live in Ireland where she's popular and no one my age (20) heard it. That song was amazing.
DROP PARLOPHONE. Release a 30 second teaser, then the whole track should be available for download the day its released. Get Outta My Way was out there and not avilable for download until a month or so later. You could sell millions, but not the way you've been doing it.
Disappointing news, but not suprising. The choice of singles from the album were ok, in particular better than today. Great clips, but I must agree with everyone about release times with vids & cd singles released. The majority of fans buy the cd, so the need an extra incentove to purchase the singles. Apart from having some great mixes on some of the singles, I was very disappointed that there were no new material as for the usual term b-side. Fans love Kylie new music & would purchase these singles. Some of Kylies b-sides have been unreal. I also believe its time Kylie needs to maybe work with some new people in team minogue. Maybe a new stylist would be a good start & a record company that appears keen to promote the albums. Aprhodite has some great tunes, but it just hasn't worked. Kylie, pls start recording some new material & a new album asap, not a long 3 years in the making. Light years and Fever were done within 2 years and were 2 of Kylies very successful CDs. I also believe she's released way too many greatest hits cd, it come across as a money making exercise and she's not giving her fans whay they want more new Kylie. A rarities, b sides, jazz & other new songs compliation of fresh stuff would be great, quite similar to what Sarah Mclachlan releases for teh fans, brillant cds.
Re: Superguy – Why should they make her a star? Talent should make a star. The execs may think her brand isn't working in the US.
Kylie is in a position where she can do whatever she wants right now…she's an international icon! When I saw her on MTV in 1988 singing "The Locomotion," I would have never thought she'd be this big 23 years later. But if she hasn't made it huge here in the US, she's probably never going to, but that could be an advantage for her, because she can take her career in many different directions in the US and introduce herself to people who haven't heard of her.
The sad fact is, the music industry is very youth-oriented. Madonna, Mariah, & Janet can tell you how hard it is to have huge singles these days, even though there's always been exceptions. Cher had a huge international #1 single at age 50. Tina Turner was in her mid 40s when she had her huge comeback, and is still rocking in her 70s. Barbra Streisand scored a #1 album on the US and UK charts not too long ago. Jennifer Lopez just debuted in the top 10 with her latest single. Kylie still has a long career ahead which to look forward.
As a huge fan got to say the singel choices where not good. I still think Closer, Aphrodite, and Cupid Boy would have been better choices, she also should drop EMI they suck at promoting her and always have. they showed just how much they sucked when Body Language and X came out. But don't worry minne your still young and your fans are not going anywere but for once you need to do the music you want and sing like the real fans know you can like you did with the '94 albume
