Jim Parsons broadway debut

The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons is making his Broadway debut in The Normal Heart this spring.

The Golden Globe winning actor will play Tommy Boatwright, a Southerner in a group of HIV/AIDS activists in the early 1980s, with Lee Pace from the cancelled ABC series Pushing Daisies (or Marmaduke) starring alongside as closeted fellow activist Bruce Niles.

The play focuses on the rise of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City between 1981 and 1984, as seen through the eyes of writer and activist Ned Weeks, the gay Jewish founder of a prominent HIV advocacy group.

The show's limited 12-week run will begin previews on April 19, then open on April 27th.

With a Golden Globe and Emmy under his belt, it's hard to believe that Jim won't do anything less than an EXCELLENT job on stage. Is there a Tony Award in his future?

Thoughts???

This guy is smart, he works Broadway into his TV schedule on a hit show. Not like that other guy, whose name I can't remember now, who quit Grey's Anatomy to be a star.

Funny how you weren't on the Big Bang Theory/Jim Parsons bandwagon until you realized he was gay.
