Broadway Spider-Man Woes Continue, Opening Pushed Back ANOTHER 3 Months!

Spider Man Is Taking A Long Break

Yes, so maybe Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark is about to be delayed an extra 3 months.

Maybe those three months are what it needs?

What if, stay with us here, those three months make it the greatest broadway musical ever??

LOLz, okay, with so many delays and issues and problems we're getting worried that it'll never live up to its price tag.

So what are we looking at here exactly in terms of dates?

The precise dates for the shutdown — needed to give the cast a break and to hold new rehearsals — have not been set, but they are expected to cover late April and early May, the people said. An official announcement was expected this week.

Our biggest question is: When does a preview show stop being a preview and is just the actual show??

You'd think it'd be somewhere after a few sneak peeks, right?

Wrong:

“Spider-Man” completed its 99th preview performance on Tuesday night, more than any other show in history; it is also twice as expensive as the next big-budget Broadway show, “Shrek the Musical.”

Almost 100 preview shows?? That's insanity!

To be fair the show has gone through six delays, but even with that (according to math we just did) they're hitting 16.5 preview shows per delay. Still seems like a lot.

There's also no word if Julie Taymor will be back or not, but we wouldn't be surprised if she wouldn't be.

We DO hope everything works out, though! Everyone is working so hard on this show, it would be a shame to see it go through any more problems!

Good luck guys, let's hope this break helps!!

Perhaps it's finally time to call this a wash, hmmmm?

I saw a preview today and I thought the cast and crew did an outstanding job. Even though many things have gone wrong in the past, the show was phenomenal. Bravo!
