Celine Has MJ Tribute In New Show

Seeing Celine Dion do a tribute to Michael Jackson in her new show has just got to be so fab!!

The massively voiced artist plays a slew of her own hits and tones down the theatrics, but she just couldn't resist paying a tribute to the king of pop.

Here's why:

"I admired Michael a lot," says Dion, adding that she first took notice of the icon when he sang Ben on a TV show she watched. She reprises that song as well as Man in the Mirror in Celine, complete with perfectly placed yelps.

"I'll never forget the day he came to see my show (A New Day). He sat toward the back. Afterward he came to talk to me. He wanted to know about doing the show, what it took. I think he was interested in maybe doing the same thing on the Strip."

Her advice to Jackson: Go for it, so long as you can make sure that the theater's humidity level stays at a throat-friendly 55%. Caesars Palace's Colosseum achieves that through a vast network of humidity-generating ducting.

We the trib is absolutely fantastic, and if the legend were still alive, we're sure he'd probably be moved by it!

Celine, we'd love to see your show! Anyone who gets to is incredibly lucky, and you have a voice that's just unmatched!

Will U be seeing Celine's new show in Vegas??

No, not me. I personally loathe Celine Dion — she oversings and bludgeons every poor little song to death. And I'm sure tickets will start at about $300, a lot to pay to hear someone whose voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard to you. She needs to chill and bring own the histrionic level. One thing Michael Jackson understood that Dion does not is the value of contrasting intensity levels. He got that understatement can be powerful. Dion wouldn't recognize understatement if it hit her on the head like a ton of bricks.

I won't be traveling to see her show but I bet it's amazing!

I wish I'd gone to her last stint. Anyway, who wouldn't want to do a Michael tribute; some of his tunes are just choice for a vocalist who likes soul.

That's really sweet of her I heard she learned English from listening to MJ songs lol since she mostly spoke French. She's always been a big fan of his glad she still is.

I think Celine Dion is a true talent. Her voice is amazing! I have always admired her kindness as well. She seems to be so sweet and down to earth. She has always spoken highly of Michael. She is a true fan. She even talked about doing this tribute to Michael on her last Oprah appearance and Oprah didn't seem to care of course but I'm glad she brought it up anyway lol. I would love to see her show. Not just because she does a tribute to Michael but that would be the icing on the cake for me ;)

I have been wondering if I'll make it back to Vegas soon enough to see her. Her last performance is Aug. 15th and I wasn't expecting to be there until September. I have seen CHER and BETTE at the Coliseum in Caeser's Palace and missed her last July when she took time off to carry the twins. I would be thrilled to see her do MJ or any show. Her tickets start at $95 and I've been watching the website to see if she extends her show, but I think she wants to tour. I doubt she lipsynchs as she has explained the theatre is kept at 55% humidity to comfort her throat. I hope I don't miss it, and I believe Vegas will not be the same without her. She is a good person and I don't think she would harm a fly. Bloggers can be mean and that is just part of the game. Mario , I hope you get to see her before she ends her show.

Re: BIGFOOT1 – She has a three-year contract and will be doing 70 shows a year. Not a huge number by any means, but certainly not a short time frame. I can't wait to see her in April!

Id rather set fire to my head than see this annoying trannybitch in concert. Really its for old senior citizens who like cheesy cabaret.

her voice is so overrated. Sure she has range but its so ott and melodramatic.

stay in Vegas bitch its truly where u belong

Re: trader2025 – You call Céline a Pepsi, that's a nice compliment, Pepsi is delicious. What are you, a Coke ? Why do you hate French-Canadians, could you be jealous ? I feel sorry for you - your post says more about you than about French-Canadians or about Céline.

I've seen it at her first preview show with Celine and the crew's friends and family exactly 1 week ago today. It was utterly amazing!

Didn't this woman just have twins? Why have kids if you go back to work the next day? I'm sure it takes a lot of time to prep for these shows, ( which you couldn't pay me a million $ to go see… I HATE HER!) so what about the kids??? I'm pretty sure she could afford to take a year off and appreciate what she has been blessed with.

I wanna see her live one day.

Re: Obnoxious_Joe – Nope, Vegas USED to be the repository for 'has beens', but turned into the IS NOW for entertainers (quite a few years ago) who like to stay in one place, or have small children. Who wouldn't like Vegas for a few months. Whoopee.
