Anderson Cooper In Japan, Asks "Should I Get Out Of Here?"

Anderson Cooper is currently in Japan, covering the story of the nuclear plant explosion in Fukushima.

During a live report, Anderson became scared and interrupted the report to ask, "Should I get out of here?"

Jim Walsh, the nuclear expert he was speaking with, assured him that he and his crew should be okay…but still, very scary.

Watch the report (above).

We don't blame you for being concerned, Anderson.

Please stay safe.

THEN WHY WAS HE THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE???????????????
arghhhhhhh these news reporters piss me off- they do idiotic things and then expect sympathy. is it really worth risking your health & safety for the sake of a news report?? it's not heroic, it's stupidity.

I'm a nuclear medicine technologist.. He shouldnt be there. He could be damaging his thyroid.. Unless the expert has a semi-conductor or a cutie pie meter to measure the radiation levels or if cooper was given a film badge to measure the radiation he is being exposed to. He should leave. Even if it is a little bit, radiation exposure per hour for a long period of time is damaging.

Re: flubbzi – I totally agree with you…..anderson, you are a attentionloving famewhore and this whole act was directed…..i wish you nothing well!!!

unless he is actively helping with relief efforts then GTFO, these people don't need a camera in their faces while they are digging out the remains of their homes/loved ones

Mr. Cooper, NBC's Lester Holt, and so many other journalists don't belong there.
I'm sure CNN, NBCU, and others have overseas bureaux, so why send their star reporters to disaster zones?
It's not cost efficient. Use local talent, not "celebrity" journalists.

if anything happens to him, or any other idiot reporters that showed up AFTER THE EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI, IT'S THEIR OWN %@(#@ FAULT! (notice, Mario ONLY reports on COOPER, the gay reporter). If you are there to HELP, then I will feel really bad if something happens. BUT, in this day of SATELLITES, INTERNET, TRANSLATERS, WE DO NOT NEED ALL THESE USELESS 'NEWS' PEOPLE sticking microphones into people's faces as they are trying to do their jobs. They take up seats on flights where healthcare workers and cleanup and retrieval people COULD BE ON INSTEAD. OR FOOD, BLANKETS, ETC. and on top of it, I keep seeing the SAME PICS OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

    Re: djnv2009
How the fuck am i weird??
A few minutes ago ther was an explosion and that whore anderson knew it.
Now he can come back to america and tell how tramatic it was and get some sympathy, fame and invited to oprah.
You are the weird one with a scull as a profil picture!!

She should stay there and do her job.

If you don't get that, it's cause Perez got his panties in a bunch because Larry King called Anderson Cooper a She at the Trump roast….even though fatboy refers to Zack Efron as Zaquisha.

    Hear that fatboy? You hypocrite!

I wish him safety, but he really should not be there. Think of all the people who lost their lives because they just happened to be where they were, living their lives and I just think it's kind of wrong to be sending people over there. I do think it's important to keep abreast of the situation, to be able to understand if there is anything to understand, and to be able to help, but at the same time this should be done in the safest way possible. He shouldn't be put in situations like in Egypt and now in Japan (obviously very different situations but both dangerous) and then we are all shocked and horrified when something terrible happens. I am not belittling the importance of the news in spreading information, it's and integral part, especially when it can help promote international change…but oftentimes it seems like the effort is largely for entertainment, or infotainment purposes, which I don't think is very honourable, just foolish.
Still I hope he stays safe.

"my guess is that you're ok" - oh thanks, that's really assuring.
"don't sue me if i'm wrong" - well, considering he'd probably be dead, i guess it'll be his family suing you.

It's a dangerous situation and he should really think of reporting further away from the Nuclear site. Saying that reporters have been risking their lives to bring us the story long before him. It is not new and usually respected now by just reading the comments apparently mocked. News reporters bring a lot of attention to situations that would otherwise not be known. But there are limits no story is worth losing your life but as far as I know no reporter has been hurt while reporting on Japan. I think he is one of the few honest reporters left and I think calling him a famewhore is unfair just my opinion.

As soon as there is an open meltdown, Tokyo is a doomed city and I wouldn't even got to Japan even if somebody gives me money to do so. Hell yes, as a private person he schould get out of there as fast as possible. As a journalist he will not.
