Fran Drescher Returns To TV Land

Fran Drescher

No, not with more re-runs of The Nanny, but a NEW show!

Fran Drescher's comedy series pilot Happily Divorced has almost been picked up by TV Land!

Fran will be executive producing with Peter Marc Jacobson, who co-created The Nanny with her as well, so this could very well be the next big hit for the actress.

Based on her real life, she will play a woman who gets back into the dating scene after discovering her husband is gay! Ha! Love it so far!

She will find herself having to constantly juggle the relationship with her ex-husband and her new boyfriend.

Def. sounds inneresting and we're crossing our fingers it makes it on the air this fall!

Would U watch Fran Drescher's new show?

Heck ya! LOve Fran. She's cool! Glad she's coming back on tv…

Peter Marc Jacobson is not only her producing partner, but her ex-husband. They divorced when he came out. So this is a true to life story for her!

I thought TV Land was supposed to show classic television…Donna Reed, Mister Ed…what's up with all these new series? There's no classic TV anymore.

And Tichina Arnold is going to play her best friend. This has every reason to be GOOD.

  7. 7

    Oh yeah! I adore her!!

No: 4 Perez already said in the article everything that's in your comment already why feel a need to repeat it again, already read that he is her ex husband and not just a producer. She is a great and talented lady am excited about her coming back on tv.

Yes, Love Fran, Love the Nanny, Love that they can laugh at themselves, let us laugh at them — and are smart enough to capitalize on their, uh, situation.

Re: Sir Boo – Pshh I WISH they still showed Donna Reed! The only halfway-decent shows they air nowadays are All in the Family, Sanford and Son, and M*A*S*H. TV Land and Nick at Nite have been getting pretty crummy lately, especially Nick at Nite. Even though TV Land has more of the shitty original programming, Nick at Nite has the crappiest current lineup. Their "classics" consist of shows like Friends and George Lopez. Sorry, but I don't consider a show to be a classic when the cast has only aged 5-7 years since the last taping.

Love me franny… she's been gone way to long!! Sounds like a great show to me… real life is always the best form of comedy. The key is casting the husband and the boyfriend…

    Loves me some Frannie!!!

The Nanny was epic. Can't wait for this.

Hope they pick this up. I would give it a try. I loved the Nanny and still watch reruns sometimes. TVLand isn't a classic station anymore. We have a local station that airs classic and it's fantastic. Dick Van Dyke, Lucy, The Honeymooners, Three Stooges, etc. etc. Now those are classics. Good watching.

as i've seen [and read] and loved everything fran has ever done- yes!
hopefully the show points out, as fran did recently on oprah, that people who have had relations with both sexes are bisexual.
