Howard Stern Opens Up, Talks Divorce And Re-Marriage

howard stern opens up

This must have been tough for him.

During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Howard Stern opened up about his divorce with first wife Alison, whom he had been married to for 21 years.

Here's what he had to say about the divorce:

"My marriage ending blew my mind. I was upset that I failed and let down my family, my kids, my ex-wife. It was all very painful."

"I was totally neurotic…I knew things weren't right, and I said, 'Gee, where am I going to get some answers?' I had never been a guy to turn to religion but then as my marriage was coming to an end, I needed help to explain it to my children and make sense of it all…Because once you are a divorced guy, being a father is a whole different thing."

"After my divorce, I realized, 'Oh wow, I can go have sex, and I was running around, picking up women. Then all of the sudden, it dawned on me that I really didn't need that much sex. I just wanted somebody with me every minute. I was using women as a surrogate mother. When I tapped into that, it suddenly became very childish behavior."

And here's Howard on getting married to his current wife, Beth Ostrosky:

"Things changed when we got married. Everyone before was like, 'Oh, are you Howard Stern's blond bimbo that hangs out with him?' But suddenly, when we were married, it was like, 'Oh, this is Howard's wife.' And that was important to me. Part of the reason I got married was that I wanted Beth to understand how important she is and also how equal I feel she is to me."

Wow. We're impressed with these sincere, heartfelt words, Howard.

And we're glad to hear that you're in such a good place with Beth!

We wish you both all the best!

beth isnt that cutest, but she does seem to be a good mate for howard, actually allison was good for him too, but maybe their time together needed to come to an end, they probably just outgrew each other.

  4. 4

Yeah, but the thing is…Beth's still a bimbo. And Howard's still a creep.

  5. 5

I knew Howard years ago;way before fame came his way. That guy on the radio is just a persona. The person is actually a really nice and caring person

MORE PEOPLE SHOULD THINK ABOUT THEIR KIDS IN DIVORCE. ITS A BETRAYAL FOR THEM AS WELL. SO MANY JUST FUCK THEIR KIDS OVER FOR A LITTLE ATTENTION…IT'S SICK!!!

I adore Howard. I think the way he and his ex handled the divorce (for them) and their kids was admirable. As for Beth, she seems to have been very good for him. He's alot softer and kinder and he's even admitted it's because of her. They really seem happy togehter and it's obvious the when they speak about one another. Anyone that says they hate Howard, probably has never listened to his show.

    Re: mvkat14

I agree …love Howard and think Beth is perfect for him and he for her !

    True Love IMO

I used to watch Howard. In my opinion he hates women. He hates men too. But he hates women more. It is because he is so grotesquely ugly. It a rejection and jealousy thing. He enjoys humiliating others.

  10. 10

So in other words: Perez wants to be a guest on Howard's show.

When Howard's first wife had a miscarriage, he joked about it on the radio.
He also joked about Jeffrey Dahmer's teenaged murder victim.
Mr. Stern can put on a good radio show and TV show, and I enjoyed "Private Parts," the movie. But he must have a dark mind to turn such matters into comic fodder.

I stopped listening to him in 1991, after the Dahmer murders. Enough is enough.
I'm glad he's enjoying his second marriage, and good luck to him and Beth. At least she wasn't a gold-digger looking to get knocked up to trap him.

he's a disgusting misogynist pig. and the people who go on his show are morons.

I never though I'd see the day when I'd describe a statement of Stern's as honorable, but here I am. THAT'S how to attract women, at least good ones.

it's funny how people think he's such a sleazy guy. i don't listen to his radio show, whenever i hear stuff from it it seems just crude and gross, but when he's himself in the 'real world' he seems like a really genuine stand up guy.

  15. 15

    He's disgusting, inside and out.

  16. 16

Re: Dixie77 – And you know this….how? How many minutes have you listened to his show? How many books of his have you read? how many dinners have you had in his presence?

Let he who hath no sin….cast the first stone.

And while you're at it, shut your hole, ya moron

I've always been fascinated by Howard haters. What do you base your hatred on? Have you actually given him a fair chance and listened to him or are you basing all your hatred on what other haters have said about him? Howards been on Sirius for the past 5+ years now. He's not invading your radio. You not only have to actually turn the dial to listen to him but you now actually have to pay to do it. That means that either you're a hypocrite and pay to listen to something that you claim you hate or you're claiming that you hate something that you haven't even heard.

  18. 18

he hates women and the funny thing is that he has all daughters. God works in strange ways. Then to top it all off his new wife is ugly, she has the smallest and closest set of eyes, gross. But he is way uglier than her. I really don't like picking on how she looks, but that is what he is all about. He is ugly inside and out.

  19. 19

Re: Scatter – I would never pay to listen to that garbage. If you hate women that much then I feel sorry for whatever happened to you. Howard is ugly and so is his wife Beth, her eyes are small and too close together. She would not be with him if he had no money.

so she's equal to him only when she married him? He's such a misogynist pricRe: tamzin

I'm going to have to repeat what you wrote because its simply perfect: he's a disgusting misogynist pig. and the people who go on his show are morons.
