Katy Perry's Preacher Mother Speaks In Tongues About New Book

| Filed under: Katy PerryBusiness Blitz

katy perrys mom shops around new book

Katy Perry's mother, Mary Perry Hudson, is currently shopping around a book that talks about how Katy "has impacted her Christian ministry."

Here's what Mary wrote about the book in the proposal she's been shopping around:

"This memoir is her story, in her own words. Mary and Keith Hudson have been Christian Evangelists long before the world every heard of Katy Perry."

"Amid a torrent of negative reports from tabloid magazines and entertainment shows, Mary Hudson wants to tell 'her story' and dispel a lot of rumors. Katy's success has impacted her ministry in both negative and positive ways."

"She loves her daughter very much and is very proud of her accomplishments, but disagrees with a lot of choices she makes in her career. This memoir is to set the record straight. It is not Christian proselytizing or a Katy Perry tell-all. It is the story of Mary Perry Hudson."

And here's what book co-writer T.L. Gray had to say about it:

"We currently have interest from a couple of different agencies, but have not signed with anyone . . . Mary also just completed a Christian book called Joyful Mother that will be released soon from Destiny Image . . . we've been playing around with a few different titles."

We suppose the most hardcore of Katy Perry fans might give this a read, otherwise we're sure Christian Evangelists everywhere will pick up a copy.

Do U have any interest in Mama Perry's new book?

Katy, like almost all singers these days, has to sell sex to be popular. You don't have to be a Christian Evangelist to find that sad.

How's the ride on those coattails, mary perry?

You know, we as a society often label something like this as 'exploiting' or 'cashing in' on the daughter who is a star. But we forget that the family members have their rights to tell their story as well. I think someone like Katy's mom has a good story to tell, it must be hard balancing her religious beliefs and love & acceptance of the daughter.

I like Katy's music but I'm not that curious about her mother's views. Now if Tori Amos' minister father or her darling sweetheart English major of a mom wrote a book–that would be a different story.

Katy use to be a Christian Pop artist. At least her parents are accepting of her

bleah. If I had to escape from minister parents, I'd flee the country and change my name and have "erase" therapy to purge my head of that bilge and those memories. YUCK

no, actually, I will have to see if it is a well written book. I am not a Katy Perry fan, so that part-DON'T CARE. I am more religious than your average person, but not over religious. This would be of interest, again, if it is well written, to people who are religious. Not to the point of 'I MUST HAVE IT!!!!' it might be interesting to see how it has changed the Mother, Katy's fame. (and I am not talking about Katy's money)

Perez, can you find out how many pages the book will contain? I have a wobbly table leg, but don't need "Going Rogue" or "America By Heart". They just didn't hold up!

I'll be honest, I'm not interested in reading anything whose supporting character is probably going to be Jesus. If she were writing about how it has impacted just her family, and perhaps her relations with the religious community, maybe I'd take a gander. But how it's influenced her ministry? Naaah. I don't care how you preach, lady, or what you preach about.

    Her neck is so creepy.

Not very christian to use your child to sell a book-hmmm

Probably not, as am not a fan of proselytizing even if it remains to be seen that
that's what this is. Good for her for writing a book. If Palin can do it and cash in,
    why not someone's mom.

Its pretty sad you have to resort to going so low as to making fun of one of the most important Christian's beliefs or things to worship. If you cant respect peoples religion, then dont be expected to be accepted as a homosexual.
