Well, it's about time! No one can blow our minds the way she does, and this sounds like no exception!

Björk has kept a pretty low profile since her 2007 album, Volta, but gurlfriend has just announced that there's a whole lot more of her coming our way!

The Icelandic singer not only has revealed that she'll be performing a series of show's as a part of this year's Manchester International Festival, but also that she has a new album in the works called, Biophilia, set to be released sometime in 2011!

According a press release, Biophilia is being described as "a multi-media project encompassing music, apps, internet, installations and live shows" with instruments like "a bespoke digitally-controlled pipe organ; a 30 foot pendulum that harnesses the earth's gravitational pull to create musical patterns– creating a unique bridge between the ancient and the modern; a bespoke gamelan-celeste hybrid; and a one-off extraordinary pin barrel harp."

Holy shiz. This sounds pretty ambitious - just how we like her!

Can't wait to be entranced all over again, gurl!

And check out her new tour dates…AFTER THE JUMP!

Bjork has always been ten steps ahead or so :D no one like Bjork!

  2. 2

What? That's not a tour dumbass, she's playing in only one venue back-to-back.

  3. 3

Every date in the same city and same venue? Please.

  4. 4

Bjork's songs have the most beautiful melodies, then she starts singing and ruins the whole thing! Like nails on a blackboard.

hopefully it will be better than her last album. huge bjork fan here but her last album was kind of lacking in my opinion. still, even at her worst she always makes music that makes one think. she pushes what is expected of pop music.

Super exciting news, a true eccentric and true pop pioneer on all of her aesthetics choices. Pop music today sounds like hers work 10+ years ago.

This is a residency which is part of a bi-annual international exhibition of the arts, which is why the dates are all at the same venue. The tour of the project will be limited cities and has not had dates announced as of yet.

Whatever this project is, one thing for sure is that it will be interesting.
    Welcome back.

    Re: the Period
Volta was awful! Whose idea was it to bring in Timbaland? I mean, really..the man fucks up just about everything he touches.
