Demi Lovato Offers One Mil

Just like Sandra Bullock earlier, Demi Lovato has offered up an amazing $1 Million dollars to help aid the victims of the earthquake in Japan!!

Demi, you're such a sweetheart!!

Here's the what's being reported:

"Singer/actress Demi Lovato has become the latest celebrity to help victims of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, by reportedly offering to donate $1 million (£666,670) to the cause.

The troubled Disney star has written a personal cheque to aid those affected by the 9.0-magnitude tremor last week."

Hopefully she isn't so troubled anymore after her wonderful return from taking the time to work on her issues!

It's so beautiful and inspiring to see ANYONE donate, let alone a young teen with the means to truly help!

    I really admire her.
There's something about her, I can't put my finger on it, that is so sad.

  2. 2

I think it is great that these celebrities are stepping up and giving soo much money to help the unfortunate people in Japan, they got hit hard and it is sad but I dont remember this many people doing anything or being as worried when Indonesia was basically underwater and about 200,000 people died. Also what about our country and our people? Where are all these "supermen and women" to help out people who here? I dont really remember any million dollar donotions being made to help people in New Orleans.

  3. 3

I really dislike celebrities exploiting disasters for good PR. If they really cared they'd donate without having to brag to the world about it. I hope she's ashamed.

  4. 4

wow I had no idea she was successful enough to be able to do that
it will really show up the ones that are established although I bet a lot of them do it anonymously

  5. 5

Good. Because I'm all donated out! Always helping everyone else. Who helps us?

  6. 6

Re: smiley010992 – Where do you see her bragging? Your an idiot, even if it was for PR they are still donating huge amounts of money to help out those victims.

  7. 7

Re: smiley010992 – So what? I'd rather see them brag about donating money to those that need it than spending it on a retarded house or car

  8. 8

Is it just me…or does anyone else find themselves thinking about Haiti still in crisis while all this money's going to Japan? I mean, I know it's horrible what happened in Japan as well…but Haiti's the poorest country in the western hemisphere and Japan is VERY well off. People seem to move on to the next thing so quickly…

This is a girl who just went through treatment which must have been costly and wasn't working throughout it. She may or may not still have a job at Disney. Her big donation will come back to her in great karma. THANKS Demi and I hope the rest will follow. Btw… Japan may be a rich country but they're as in debt as America. They can't afford what happened to them.

Re: vanity_x – money goes where money is

  11. 11

    Love you Demi!

  12. 12

Maybe this is a PR move or maybe this is her new self after rehab. Either way I am moving by her kindness. Thank you Demi!!! You deserve all the happiness, health and love.

  13. 13

Re: JJOfficial – Actually *'you're' an idiot. Lots of celebrities give out of the kindness of their hearts without needing to release a statement to the media. She's just a nasty piece of work hoping to use those poor souls to cover up the fact she's just a violent little thug.

  14. 14

Re: vanity_x – Haiti has already received millions. It's up to their government on how it's spent

  15. 15

It is great to see any help going to Japan but these celebrities don't impress me. They make OBSCENE amounts of money for what they do and these meager (for them) donations are done more for tax purposes and some for PR. They live their lives in disgusting opulence and they SHOULD do more to help.

  16. 16

Re: tenyearsgone – You do have a point, Charlie Sheen made more from one episode then most people make in 20 years, crazy. I made a small donation and thought, big deal, made me feel bad I couldn't help more. This is still a lot of money and I am thankful to anyone who gives, Thank you Demi!!!!What about all the Hollywood heavy hitters, where are those donations???

  17. jham says – reply to this

    17

    Awesome!

  18. 18

Demi, i gained so much respect for you in the past few months. you're so strong. i really admire you :)

  19. 19

I can't believe some people she is doing something to help others and all people can complain about is that she is bragging. This is absolutely ridiculous at least she is doing something whether she got publicity or not, and I am pretty sure that her own PR people didn't send this out in a press release since the quote that was taken was obviously out of the UK. Leave Demi alone she is doing something to help others and I respect her for that.

  20. 20

Correction: Demi did not brag about donating 1 Million Dollars. If you have no idea, well, the exact amount Demi donated was not even disclosed earlier the official statement of her donating an amount. Some said 25 000, some said 100 000 but the actual amount is 1 Million Dollars :D

  21. 21

i think its wonderful that all the celebrities are donating their money to Japan and the awful disaster that is still happening over there, but why is it that they can dish out a million dollars to Japan, but there are millions of children starving and homeless in our own country? why is it that no one will come to our aid when we really need it? Our national debt is atrocious, and the fact that so many children in our own homes are going hungry, its just sad. But I dont see any of our celebrities donating to our own country to get us out of recession? Come on people!! Other countries havent come to our aid in our times of need? Why do we need to always be the world hero when it comes to this but we cant help ourselves?

  22. 22

Good for her. I respect that she never hid what she went through, unlike other stars who try to sweep it under the rug. I hope she does well and gets on track again with her career. Very nice gesture and donation.

  23. 23

Re: carinacarina – Charlie Sheen is actually donating portions of his ticket sales to Japan.

  24. 24

Re: mendo0320 – Other celebrities have done things in the U.S but mostly in their hometown. Brangelina have helped bulid homes in New Oreleans, Taylor Swift has donated money to teachers in Nashville, Eminem has donated money to Detroit, Beyonce has donated to Texas, etc but nothing gets media coverage then donating money abroad and that's not their fault. Most of these countries are 3rd world whose governments aren't as stable as the U.S so they usually can't afford it when disasters strike. The U.S is a first world country and it would be embarrassing if they asked for donations just b/c of the image that sends. I rem when 9/11 happen many countries offered help but were turn down that doesn't mean celebs can't donate if a nature disasters happens on U.S soil in fact many do like the benefit concert held for 9/11 the money raise went to the victims families. So in fact they have step-up in their own country it just never gets the same attention.

  25. 25

    As usual, no fact-checking.
She DID NOT give a million dollars.
Her rep denied the whole story.

  26. 26

    Re: misscheriamor
I am surprised about this but very happy about it as well. First good thing this shell of a man has done in a while.

  27. 27

Indonesia, Haiti, and New Orleans all had millions donted to them by pretty much the same celebs that are donating to Japan. I don't care if it's just a drop in the bucket to them, or that it is going out of the country. Yes, I would love for them to help out here also and they do. This same batch of celebs donate to many charities here and abroad. Bravo Demi!

  28. 28

When you make a lot of money you need bigger tax write offs.

why not do it in public so you get admired for it!

Wake up people. If this was sincere would you need to tell everyone you are doing it? I would donate in private….wouldn't need the attention for helping someone else out. Why does she…..hmmmm makes you wonder.

  29. 29

Re: misscheriamor – Why is Sheen only donating $1 per ticket, why not donate the entire net profit? Oh yeah, he has coke and whores to pay for.

  30. 30

hard to believe she even has that kind of money, she was never really successful and only popular to tweens…her "rehab" made her knows to adults who read gossip sites, her networth is estimated at 3mil u really think she could afford to give 1/3 of that? get real..and im sorry but i agree while if she donated sum money and not 1mill…i think this is a pr move to clean up her image…

  31. 31

she didnt brag. clearly she/her people are not the ones who released that statement since it says "reportedly" offering. if she released the statement, she would know how much and it wouldnt say that. ignorant morons.

  32. 32

i love demi lovato. but seriously. who gives a fuck about japan. i hope they all die and starve to death. i couldn't care less what happens to those japanese strangers.

  33. 33

    Even so Demi is great

  34. 34

Re: white_is_ugly – Tell me what happens when Karma strikes….

  35. 35

If someone so young and new in the business can make such a grand donation, why can't all the show biz veterans?!

  36. 36

    god i love her.

  37. 37

And what has Mileywhore offered? Zilch. Demi is a great person, regardless of her past drama. She deserves fame.

  38. 38

WOW, seriously, how old is she again???? Awesome, and to those saying she is capitalizing on PR, $1,000,000, no matter how you slice it….how much did you give….????

  39. 39

I think all these celebrities need to donate to the national debt

  40. 40

Re: Eliazar Rodriguez – you re weird :O

  41. 41

I don't believe it. There is no way she has this kind of money to give.

  42. 42

Woah! Even if it is for PR, she still have 1mil! I have loved demi since i discovered her music around 2 years ago, and im sure this is her just being kind and generous! ;)
