charlotte-leatherbarrow-killed-by-double-decker-bus

This is absolutely awful.

Charlotte Leatherbarrow, a 12-year-old dancer who was appearing in the Billy Elliot musical in London, was hit and killed upon impact by a double-decker bus while crossing the road near her home in South London on Thursday.

Charlotte's family described her as a "fun loving, thoughtful, caring and bubbly girl" and said in a statement:

"She loved life and lived it to the full, already living her dream as a dancer…Each and every one of us will miss her enormously."

And her dance captain at Billy Elliot, Alan Bradshaw, said on behalf of the entire cast and crew:

"Charlotte was the most adorable girl. She was lively and energetic, had a wonderful smile and was an absolute pleasure to work with."

Authorities are currently investigating the bus in question, and still speaking with witnesses in an attempt to gather as much information as possible.

No parent should ever have to lose a child, especially one so young.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and loved ones during this truly tragic time. Stay strong.

As you said Perez: No parent should ever have to lose a child, especially one so young.

I want to take this moment to ask for your help to save a 5 year old girl who is suffering from Dilated Cardyomyopathy. Her name is Valeria, she is from Lima, Peru and she needs a heart transplant to be able to survive. This surgery has NEVER been done in Peru and her only shot to be able to live is to come to America, where this surgery has been done successfully many times.

Donations for this surgery is being made through the Children's Organ Transplant Association. you can find her donor-page at: www.savevalita.com

    Please, any donation will help!

    Thank you

Good god, this and the french lady that got killed by the garbage truck… Poor things..

  4. 4

TERRIBLE. I HOPE HER FAMILY AND THOSE WHO KNEW HER FIND PEACE DURING THIS AWFUL TIME. RIP MISS LEATHERBARROW

Perez, everything you say is so fucking insincere and trite. While I'm sure you think this was a tragic event, which it is, I SINCERELY doubt your "thoughts" are with the family at this sad time. Infact, you probably didn't give it a secind thought after you posted it.

More likely you're too concerned about your next fame whoring media event where no one of any stature shows up than this poor girls family. |Why post this stuff if the sentiment behind it is totally false?

    Fuck, you are repugnant.

  6. 6

I'm waiting for the first dip-shit to comment that "it was her time to join God." Dumbasses.

  7. 7

    That is soooooo sad!!!!

Re: Shaniqua Jones – You have no idea what he's feeling, or thinking. If he took the time to post on a relatively unknown girl, then I am sure he thought about her and her family. It's not like this particular post falls under his usual categories of celebrity gossip or LGBT issues.

  9. 9

Very sorry to hear this, so tragic :(
P.s. Perez, stop stealing your stories from the Daily Mail

Re: Shaniqua JonesRe: ingrid – Even if you know him personally (which I seriously doubt that you do), you still have no idea how he feels. Chances are, you've never even met the guy. It's one thing to hate on him, but it's another to say that he doesn't have a soul. Give him a break.

Re: PlayingTheAngel – You know what..I never met Hitler or Jeffry Dhamer eaither..but ya know..Its safe to say they were the scum of the earth.

  12. 12

    She probably deserved it

  13. 13

    A life was lost.

And some of these comments are quite disturbing as to the fact they are supposed to be about a 12 year old girls life.

May she rest in peace… Taken too soon.

  14. 14

Crossing the street in London is a nightmare! I was just there and it was scary as hell it is one of the most unfriendly pedestrian cities I have ever been to. And I lived in New York. They need to change some laws and improve things asap. Poor little girl.

  15. 15

Re: icefire227 – your mother deserves it, she clearly did an awful job raising you.

  16. 16

Re: icefire227 – I just have no clue how or why anyone would make this horrific statement. It isn't funny… it's just sickening.

To this little girl's family: I wish peace for you, and the knowledge that you have a dancing angel watching over you.

  17. 17

This was tragic, but also happened quite a few days ago… Seriously slacking.. but I guess that's what happens when you achieved your goal of getting in with all the celebs that you used to "trash". The Sun posted the other day that Jordan doesn't speak Spanish and her boytoy doesn't speak English.. should I look for that report on this site in a week?

  18. 18

my little brothers best friend is playing 12 year old "Michael" in that production … I really hope he doesn't take it too hard, he's only young :( This is so sad, it's always most tragic when it's an accident ): x

  19. 19

Re: icefire227 – You are disgusting

  20. 20

This is so tragic. Heart goes out to her family and friends. Her whole life ahead of her. May she RIP. Sweet dreams darlin x

  21. 21

Perez you should block commenting on this. Some people just have no respect and it's disgusting. What if one of her family members is reading the comments and sees "she deserved this"…so sickening.

  22. 22

Re: icefire227 – How do you figure? You sick fuck!!!

  23. 23

I do give my sympathy, im sure this girl had a lot of potential to do more musicals in the future. however, there are a lot of people, kids and adults, who cross the road blindly and i think this shows that whatever the situation is we need to look clearly before we cross the road. i hope its not the case that this girl wanted to cross without a green man and a bus driver driving like normal was the unfortunate victim of the situation.

  24. 24

When morons make vile troll comments just IGNORE! They want to shock since they have nothing else in their lives.

  25. 25

    RIP little Charlotte.

  26. 26

Re: mandyhart411 – if someone is reading perezhilton, they sure as hell better have skin thick enough to handle what they're reading - don't play the blame game.

  27. 27

There is a light that never goes out…

  28. 28

Mario, maybe you would not have so many NASTY COMMENTS if you did not just C&P most of your story. UNLESS YOU DO IT ON PURPOSE TO INFURIATE US READERS, TO GET MORE CLICK, CLICK, CLICKS???? Anyhoo, instead of all this C&P, don't you have any original THOUGHTS? This young girl, young woman, was extremely talented, according to her resume. and while YES, IT IS TRAGIC FOR ANY PARENT TO LOSE THEIR CHILD, AT ANYTIME, this young girl was lost to not just them, but to the world of DANCE, ACTING, ETC. A real shame, and what is really a shame, is that you just put up, YES, LONDON'S POSTER OF 'BILLY ELLIOT' instead of a picture of this beautiful young girl/woman-lost to her parents/family/friends and to THE ENTERTAINMENT WORLD. My prayers are to her family, friends and others who are in pain over the loss of Charlotte.

Re: April 20th – I'm just saying that the family might come across this article and some of the comments on here are so disrespectful. They're grieving right now and don't need to see how some people think she "deserved it"

  30. 30

    Re: icefire227 – wow.

  31. 31

I am so sorry to hear about this !

  32. 32

Re: Shaniqua Jones – REALLY!!! You are so rude to say that when we are talking about a child it is a child you are so low class!!

  33. 33

Re: mandyhart411 – then they shouldn't be on perezhilton - comments like that are expected on every post regardless of topic. if someone's on perezhilton they aren't grieving that much to begin with.

  34. 34

Re: icefire227 – DISGUSTING PIECE OF SHIT!!

  35. 35

Are people so pathetic that they need to talk crap about Perez on a post about a child who lost a life?

    Seriously…some people have NO respect.

It's a horrible situation. :( I wish that family all the best.

  36. 36

Re: PlayingTheAngel – Oh yeah, makes sense to post pics of Tom Hardy's pencil dick right before an obituary. Perez is a hypocrite. Why are comments closed on red carpet fashions (where the comments could be hilarious, numerous, but this bickering on a death is open for all, including the family)?

  37. 37

    How horrible.
I'm currently living in London and the driving here is a nightmare. I have almost been hit by vehicles many times. The bus drivers drive fast and do not slow down when people are crossing the street. In fact, London has advertisements about taking care of your friends when you cross the street to avoid being hit. Even if a person was crossing just in time but fell because they rolled their ankle the drivers here would have no time to stop. It's just unnecessary.

  38. 38

Re: April 20th – not many adults know who perez is. The parents might hear there was an article about their daughter and go to read it and come across horrible comments. That means they're not grieving? I don't think you have any place saying that. I also don't know why you are so obssesed with arguing me on this. There were some pretty rude and disrespectful comments you could have commented on. Your argument is pretty useless.

  39. 39

very tragic. her parents should have taught her to ALWAYS look both ways before crossing the street. i am sure it was an accident, but it probably could have been prevented had she looked both ways & waited.
