I guess she has a new accent or something lol

That's what she always says. I noticed when she thanked Bill CUNdon at the Oscars. I think it sounds unique! I like it! Plus, her voice is just… AMAZING!! I love watching her onscreen! Hope she does more musicals!!! That is where you belong girl!! You the next Streisand!! We haven't had one in awhile… I think in 50 years we will list her in the same category with Judy, Babs, and Julie!!! YEAH!!!

Haha that was funny! I love Jennifer! Shes so pretty and has an amazing voice

    She also sang AXED (asked).

Nobody ever claimed she was literate.

  5. 5

I say "axed" also instead of "asked." I think it's a regional thing and not a literacy thing! Although I don't think she's that bright!

  6. 6

She has problems pronouncing some words… I cringe everytime she says "ORSCAR" at the Academy Awards…

Re: metnwt – No, it's not a regional thing. If you say "axed" it's because you're a moron.

  8. 8

@mortalwombat nailed it. If you say 'axed' instead of 'asked' you're just plain stupid. Doesn't matter what 'region' you are from.

Re: mortalwombat – Unfortunately, I have heard "axed" many times in my high school where i used to attend. My school was populated by many African Americans and I heard it a lot from them. Many had accents but I think for many, I think they just slurred their words a lot and it was a form of slang for them, considering they were teenagers and teenagers usually talk the same way.

@yeaman - - It is not just African American or Black people that say 'axed" instead of "asked". Plenty of white and others have said the same thing. It does have a lot to do with were you were raised and the people around you while growin up.

Obviously she has a bit of an accent. I've heard it before in other interviews and that's just the way she talks, not that serious. Also, plenty of people say "axed" instead of "asked". It is at least partially an environmental thing when you grow up around it as I did. That doesn't mean you don't know how to say or spell the word. Sometimes it's just more natural to use a bit of slang in a conversation when it's what you're use to. Short words like "asked" are easy to slur. Saying "axed" may not be technically correct but by no means doe it automatically doom you to a life of idiocy. On the other hand, someone in the public eye like Jennifer Hudson should certainly try to be a bit more conscience of what she says and how it comes across but it really is just nit picking

There's just no excuse for the "axed" thing. Whether she's educated or not, it's her job to know how to pronounce these things. Didn't her producers correct her? No excuse. No excuse.

Re: MRSMOMOA – I know, I am just saying from my experience that thats where i heard it from the most. I also don't venture much out and don't usually critique language when i am outside of a school setting. But I think its just natural for someone to talk like the people around them. But she also is a public figure so i think she should watch that because people are of course going to criticize her

Jennifer is one of the worlds greatest singers… Regardless of how she speaks, the girl can sing!!! and that's all that matters.

  15. 15

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! You are so ridiculous Perez. Why in God's name would you even go there after all that this woman has gone through. What is the matter with you. Such poor taste.

  16. bunck says – reply to this

    16

lol, you can see her band member laughing behind her each time she says it

  17. 17

In her weight loss commercial, she says "new erms and legs", not new arms and legs… next time you see the commercial, listen, you will hear it too.

  18. 18

She wore the exact same outfit at the Gayle King Show.. must have been a back to back schedule. I thought famous ppl make a big deal about not wearing things twice

anyways i want to but this album! I love her and Adele.

Re: mortalwombat – it is a regional thing people say its a black thing but i don't pronounce it, people are different so no need to insult people. white people say it too. here people pronounce wash like wrash.
