It truly is a sad, sad day. A legend has been lost and there is a hole in many people's hearts that can never be filled by her passing.

Early this morning, Elizabeth Taylor passed away due to congestive heart failure, which she had been battling against for many weeks. In the wake of his loss, her son, Michael Wilding, released the following statement, saying:

"My Mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love. Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world. Her remarkable body of work in film, her ongoing success as a businesswoman, and her brave and relentless advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS, all make us all incredibly proud of what she accomplished. We know, quite simply, that the world is a better place for Mom having lived in it. Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts."

Agreed.

There will never be another like Dame Taylor and we will treasure her movies and her extraordinary philanthropy work forever.

Our thoughts and well-wishes are with her family and friends.

Dame Elizabeth Taylor was a great talent. There are so few actresses working now that can actually act. Elizabeth being an advocate for the gay community and those less fortunate goes back long before the creation of her foundation. There was much more to her than her mutiple husbands and material wealth.

she played in many of the most beautiful movies in film-history!

Puerto Vallarta is wearing a black veil today. We have lost one of the reasons we exist as a tourist destination. Perhaps a fitting monument will be placed next to the statue of John Huston, but perhaps not, since Dame Elizabeth is remembered for her torrid love affair and drinking bouts with Richard Burton. The town's only porn theater is named Sala Elizabeth Taylor (it wasn't always a porn theater. The name is kept in the name of fame). Tonight, the party will begin again.
    She will be mist.

"Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe" one of the greatest performances ever by an actress!
    RIP!

She was and always will be a LEGEND! Not only a great actress but a great humanitarian. Sure she made mistakes in her life but she was only human. We should celebrate the legacy she left behind.
And to Miss B Haven–that doesn't even make any sense about karma–we all die in the end regardless of what kind of person we are in life.

Elizabeth Taylor did a tremendous amount for HIV / AIDS awareness and research early on, when most celebrities were afraid to be associated with it. She continued that work for decades. So, Kudo's to her for that. RIP.

Re: Miss B Haven – your post makes no sense you moran, are you implying that had she made different choices throughout her life then she wouldnt have passed away at the grand age of 79??? she would have lived untill when exactly? forever?
you make it sound like the only people that die are the ones that have done supposedly bad things!!!
news flash - you will die one day soon too!!! is that karma??
