Man Arrested For Polygamy After Defriending His Wife On Facebook
Wow. You don't read that headline everyday.
34-year-old Richard Leon Barton Jr. has been arrested and charged with a felony count of polygamy after defriending his first wife on Facebook.
He reportedly met his first wife, Adina Quarto, online and married the Rhode Island woman in 2004, but their love affair was quickly ended when he was hauled back to Michigan and imprisoned for violating his parole.
Unfortunately, even the internet couldn't save their relationship once he was behind bars again and they fell out of touch.
However, after his release, Quarto reconnected with him on Facebook, only to be defriended abruptly.
That's cold.
After snooping public sections of his profile, the suspicious woman discovered photos of her husband getting married…AGAIN!
Oops!
Add "pictures of getting married, while already married" alongside "pictures of taking bong hits" to the list of pictures NOT to put on Facebook!
Quarto says she tried to convince Barton to file for divorce, but only contacted authorities when he failed to do so.
After being arrested, the polygamist told the press, "I let love get in the way."
Yeah, that and his thick head!

Even though this is clearly not polygamy but bigamy. I am actually for polygamy, why should it be illegal for a guy to love and provide for ,say, 3 wives and their children but it's not illegal for a guy to get 3 women pregnant and leave them stranded with no support??
