Oh that's right! There were other MTV reality series' before Jersey Shore! Sometimes we get confused. LOLz.

The Real World is officially the longest-running reality TV show in existence, and it's about to get even more of a run, because seasons 27 and 28 of the series have already been picked up by MTV.

Despite the fact that this series has been around since the Mesozoic era, it's still performing quite well. Last week's episode brought in a 2.3 rating in the 12-34 demographic, and 2.2 million viewers total, which is a 28% increase from the season premiere! Impressive!

Should be inneresting to see if this show outlives Jersey Shore. We're thinking it's definitely well within the realm of possibility.

Idiot what do you mean 'do U think it will outlast Jersey Shore?' Real world has been on since 1992. The Jersey Shore has only been around since 2009. The Jersey Shore will have to still be in production somewhere near 2030 to surpass the Real World and that is if the Real World stops production this year. The Jersey Shore will burn out well before it could catch the Real World. Your a bit of an dummy and make a lot of stupid comments.

It is too contrived now which make it boring. The "real people" actually seem like they are playing characters in order to create drama and controversary. This seasons Vegas cast is noting like the orginial they are totally fake!!!!

this show is so tired and unreal. let's put a white jock, the hot chick, the alternative girl, the gay guy, and the black guy in a house. sorry, but you don't find that in "the real world" let it die already. not to mention they've done cities they've already been too!

They should cancel both show and stick to the Challenges. Maybe MAYBE bring back Road Rules (but the kind with the Winnebago, not the whole godawful viewers revenge thing)

Re: Babycakes!!! – Took the words out of mouth! They all seem to be trying way too hard.Everyone's playing a part and it seems all the guys keep talking about how they have horrible parents and how they all had hard childhoods. It seems like each of them is trying to make up the most dramatic story.

PS-They also might be the most unattractive cast as a whole in the show's history.

PPS- Someone tell Adam that that chain he is wearing went out of style at least 8 years ago.

Real World used to be amazing…I still love Genesis! Now its an alcohol fest with producer inspired drama.
