Wow. They wasted no time, did they?

Phillips de Pury auction house announced this morning that an Andy Warhol portrait of the late icon Elizabeth Taylor will be up for grabs in its May 12th art sale, and is estimated to go for around $30 million!

Check out the 1963 piece (above), titled Liz #5, which is a silk screen and from an unnamed private collection.

Unreal. Hopefully whomever ends up with it ensures that it's well-maintained, and will contribute to keeping the actress and humanitarian's memory, and legacy, alive.

May she R.I.P.

I'm clueless about art because I don't see how Elizabeth Tailor painted to look like the Joker is worth 30 millions$.

I never though his work was flattering or worth a penny. RIP beautiful lady.

Phillips de Pury was the "Tim Gunn" on "Work of Art" I miss that show. I miss the Andy Warhol Museum and the MOMA. We don't have any Warhol at the Taubman here in Roanoke.

30 million dollars for a charicature portrait? Man, Warhol must be turning over in his grave.

Hey Perez - love you!! and while you say phillips 'didn't waste any time' the portrait was consigned to auction long before the gorgeous Miz Taylor passed away. I do think its aweful that the company is capitalizing on her death.

PRICELESS….no matter what you think of the Andy Warhol painting, Elizabeth was the most beautiful star ever. Her soul is a lot more important that some old likeness of her. She championed and financially supported many causes and organizations that today would be called "elite". She was and will always be our true princess (enliue of a real monarchay) RIP, and may your spirit always support the causes dear to your heart.

Give it a rest, Perez. If that Warhol portrait is being included in a May auction, it has probably been planned for some at E Taylor's wishes. Having buried two parents, I know how that stuff works.
