Elizabeth Taylor laid to rest

Dame Elizabeth Taylor, who passed away Wednesday at 79-years-old after congestive heart failure, will be laid to rest today at the same cemetery where her friend Michael Jackson rests.

The private service is going to be held this afternoon at Forest Lawn in Glendale, CA.

We wish her family and friends our best and hope this private affair remains private (talking to you paparazzi!).

As a screen legend, a style icon, and world class activist, Dame Taylor has lead one heck of a life that should inspire us all.

We hope she is in a better place now where she can rest in peace.

    May she rest in peace.

That seems so fast to bury her. God bless her and her family. What a beauty.

Rest in peace - but: ET isn't the last of the old Hollywood. 2times-OSCAR-winner Luise Rainer (101) from Germany is the last.

R.I.P Elizabeth. As funny as this may sound I grew up watching you through the screen and always felt like you were a grandmother to me. Your style, grace, elegance, humor and beauty always radiated like noone else. When I heard of your passing my heart sank and I could not believe the news. I loved all of your films and respected you even more for the humanitarian work you did for those with AIDS. I will always remember you, I will always cherish your films and I hope you are now in a better place. May God bless you, and may he bless your loved ones as well. I love you! -R

Dead organisms don't rest. They're dead. She doesn't exist any more. There's no "rest in peace." There's just absence.

On March 27, 1959, at which a 27-year old Elizabeth Taylor took the Hebrew name Elisheba Rachel and converted to Judaism.

Elizabeth Taylor was Jewish and their tradition is to bury the dead within 24 hours of death. Despite her life choices she was and will always be one of Hollywood's finest actresses, and like everyone she deserves to rest in peace.

Good, so those idiotic religious fanatics didn't get a chance to get there to protest her dealings with the Gay community. I am sure if there is something for fans, the City of Los Angeles will take care of them.

It is NOT Dame Taylor. It is Dame Elizabeth Taylor or Dame Elizabeth. Sheesh.

Re: ursaloco2 – Yep it is not Dame Taylor the title comes right after the first name. In the British honor system the knightly style of Sir is accompanied by the given name, and optionally the surname. So, Elton John may be called Sir Elton or Sir Elton John, but never Sir John. Similarly, actress Judi Dench DBE may be addressed as Dame Judi or Dame Judi Dench, but never Dame Dench.

Lovely lady, who cares what one does in their personal life. Nobody is a saint! We all have our past. Hers just so happens to be published.

    Was Larry Fortensky there?
