I'm sure they feel bad enough without having to be subjected to her fame whoring!

  2. 2

    Bieber's useless prayers

  3. 3

Yet, you're precious "gagalupe" or whatever you call her only donated 250K to japan..but yet spent like 1 million on a fucking bed, she is no saint, she's so full of herself, and yet so unoriginal, i use to like her, but now I cannot stand her and her claiming to be yet "so original" i'm sorry but I see Manson's, Bowie's, Madonnas, Gwen's, Christina's love child all in fucking one.

  4. 4

Gaga's expression looks so staged it's disturbing.

  5. 5

lady gaga will do any gimmick for publicity! thats what she is founded on: gimmicks for publicity. I will respect her when she takes off the costumes, climbs off her high horse, and acts like a regular girl.

  6. 6

    Re: lynnx87
She ONLY donated 250K? How much have you donated? She's actually doing something for a great cause, and all you do is bitch about how unoriginal she is and name a drop a bunch of people who weren't very original themselves.

  7. 7

she is so wonderfully beautiful, elegant and stoic.

  8. 8

When they both donate 1 million of their OWN money, I'll be impressed. So far so good, but they have the money. I'm half broke right now and I've donated money so they can too.

Gwen Stefani, Sandra Bullock donate $1 Million each. Where's Madonna? Oh, she donated a song.

  10. 10

    They're both amazing!

  11. 11

    ahh i love justin bieber

  12. 12

Re: Mad Dog – Shut the fuck up. Her "fame whoring" has resulted in $1.5M and counting going to Japan.

Re: piratecookie – Ummm..where do you think the money to MAKE these bracelets is coming from? These bracelets aren't just falling out of the sky. The haus of gaga..which is FUNDED BY GAGA for all her costumes is making these bracelets. Hence, it's taking a lot of money to make them, HER money..please know what you're talking about before you say things.

  15. 15

Ummmmmm I am pretty sure that the making and material of the bracelets have been donated to gaga…. so… yep.
it probably would have been more humble of her to just give a monetary donation instead of creating the bracelets which are mostly, lets be honest, advertising herself.
And yes, I myself have donated as well.

  16. 16

Re: hello hello 75 – Wow, does it seriously fucking matter? She would have gotten knocked for not helping, and she still gets shitted on for doing something. So you would recommended a monetary donation? Wait, so kinda like she did for her NYC concert where 100% of the proceeds went to the victims of Haiti? Where the millions she makes a show could have gone to her, were instead used to help aid those in that tragedy.. would a monetary donation like that be okay?

  17. 17

Re: MOVE OVER MADONNA :) – Usually these companies donate the material so gaga is not paying for it, the people who raised $1.5 million are those who bought the bracelet not gaga, what she has done is use her name to attract people to buy the bracelet. I think she design the bracelet though.

  18. 18

Re: MOVE OVER MADONNA :) – That would be great MJ donated all his money from his dangerous tour to charity :)

  19. 19

You mean the concert where she donated everything to Haiti EXCEPT all souvenir sales which usually make more than ticket sales? Is it that one you are referring too? Where she pocketed more money off of selling tshirts than was ultimately donated to Haiti??

  20. 20

at least gaga has done something what about bieber?

  21. 21

    Re: hello hello 75
You aren't in any position to say what she should and shouldn't do with her money. Why does it matter to you how much she donated? She didn't have to do any of that, and whatever she's done is probably a heck a lot more than you, me, and the rest of these posters combined tenfold. Get your head out your ass! You're really not coming off as clever as you think.

  22. 22

What a good thing they are doing. I can't believe people are complaining about this. How about they donate nothing and not give a shit? Would that make you guys feel better? Where's your thousands of $? That's what I thought. I know most of you who make a few k a month probably would only donate a few bucks and call it a day. If you don't like how MUCH they are giving then you step up or stfu.

  23. 23

Practically everyone is aware of the fact that, as with everything she gets involved with, Gaga is only doing this for the publicity. I am SO sick of her popping up whenever something happens. She's a parasite. FYI $1.5 million is not impressive at all, when it comes to raising money for a cause like this. I know someone who isn't famous and has raised more money than that for Japan, they didn't have to have a bracelet made or make a self-serving video, either. Those of you who stick up for her and support her for doing this are very, very blind. Nothing she does is selfless. She attaches herself to the "tragedy" of the moment and it is absolutely disgusting.

  24. 24

Re: ickynicky – Icky: Okay, let's refute what you've said. Selflessness is not intelligent– to be a sacrificial martyr and throw away your entire enterprise as an individual and creative source for millions of people (let alone your means to employ thousands) is what you're advocating. Where's the line? How much SHOULD she donate, while maintaining her entrepreneurship and resources to continue generating money? Let's ask YOU. Forbes estimates Gaga's net worth at 110 million. Her donation of 1.5 million is roughly 1.5%. Do you own a car? A house? Clothes? Minus your debt, what's YOUR net worth? Let's say (for argument's sake) that it's $100K. Where's your donation of of $1500? Huh? If you haven't donated $1500 yet, you really should shut your trap.

  25. 25

Re: ickynicky – You don't even know her. She uses her fame for good causes. You are an idiot.

  26. 26

Re: Baron87 – Woah there, cowboy. Are you saying Bowie wasn't very original? Them's fightin' words…

  27. 27

Or she could've just fucking donated the $1.5 million right away to help the Japanese people right away instead of wasting time trying to sell those bracelets. Btw, how much did she REALLY raise once the cost to make the bracelets was actually factored in?

  28. 28

Two celebrities doing something simple to raise money for Japan, hey I have an idea…Lets Bash them!! you people are assholes.

  29. 29

Re: avenger – It's simple– the idea of attaching publicity to raising money is to raise MORE money. Sure, someone could write a check quietly in the night (and who's to say who has and who hasn't?), OR they could use their popularity as a platform to draw attention to the cause. Could you do that? I mean, who are you? Go ahead! If you have minions, let's see how much you can command them to donate.

  30. 30

That is the exact point! SHE DID NOT DONATE 1.5% OF HER INCOME!!! She donated nothing but a bracelet design which is also an advertisement for herself! If anything, she will ultimately MAKE MONEY off of this situation by the advertising.

Oh, and by the way, in ADDITION to the $100 I already donated (I make $0 a month, thank you) I have donated many of my personal possessions for a silent auction. So, what have YOU done?

  31. 31

    Re: carrie from la
HaHa! Touche! I'm a Bowie fan myself, and I really wouldn't say he's unoriginal, especially compared to the others listed. Perhaps an oversight on my part. But even Bowie couldn't make it with his real name and changed it to Bowie, and adopted a larger than life character (sound familiar?), and he also borrowed heavily and graciously from the glam movement, American R&B, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Chic, punk, New Romantics, etc. Point is, no one is really completely original, and it's even much harder to be original these days when everything has been done already.
I do agree with every other point you made as far as charities. Good job!

  32. 32

Re: hello hello 75 – If you were addressing my post:

    1) Income is not net worth.

    2) If she ends up making money personally AS WELL AS making money for Japan, more power to her and everyone. As a footnote, none of us know if either of these celebrities donated silently, so you can't conclude otherwise.

    3) I don't know why you don't have an income, but if you are economically stressed, it's unwise for you to donate your assets.

    4) It's none of your business what I've done or not done. I wasn't criticizing people for being generous and inventive.

  33. 33

The thing is, they're not the only ones who have helped raise money or donated to Japan–they're just two of Perez' favorite singers who have done so. So far in this thread, barely anyone has even mentioned Justin Bieber (trust me, I'm not a fan of his–just sayin'). How come no one is questioning what or even if any other celebrity has done anything (or not)? There's nothing wrong with bringing attention to yourself for a cause if it makes fans spring into action–it may be the only way to get people to do anything. It's a shallow world in which we live. Fact is: Lady GaGa would have been ripped apart if she hadn't done or said anything, but I remember reading about the bracelets no more than half a day after the Japan earthquakes occurred. Fast action or publicity whoring…whatever! She's doing a lot more than I can say for myself and most people I know. It's a sad world when we rip apart people for doing good.

  34. 34

Re: Baron87 – Haha! Cool, thanks. David changed his name because of Davy Jones. There could only be one! ;) My understanding of his theories are that since a rock star is a character in its own right, he portrayed the archetype of what he felt people wanted and were lacking: "If you're going to entertain thousands, you'd better look the part". As an ever-changing reflection of his audience, he admits being a "collector", and cites influences like Little Richard, Elvis, and visual artists. While he and Iggy, Lou and T-Rex swam in similar waters, I'm going to credit him with more glam invention than persuasion. I do agree that we're all influenced by others, and originality is somewhat of a relative delusion. Rock on, space invader! :D

Considering that I read that Geldof's Live Aid money didn't get to and wasn't used for what he initially intended for various reasons, I congratulate Gaga for using her position to aid the Japan crisis, and hope she oversees that money and its distribution personally.

  36. Dnk says – reply to this

How dare you HATERS… You may hate Lady GaGa, you may hate Justin Bieber… & you have EVERY right to hate, well I wouldn't say you have a right to hate. but you have a right to dis-like something, but as you can see these two people are actually doing a good job? is this really what the world has come to? hating on someone doing a good deed? you should feel ashamed of yourself. your pathetic to hate on someone doing a good thing. you go donate 1.5 Million to japan… & then see how you feel when everyone hates on you! selfish people, you couldn't even afford 100thousend let alone 1.5MIL!

  37. 37

I wish she would stop with the benzos.

  38. 38

Was at entrance of GaGa concert tonight was at MGM Las Vegas (for those of you who don't know its in the inside way inside where all restaurants are) thousands of people coming in everywhere from outside, inside only a two by five stand selling GaGa books for $30 never saw the bracelets anywhere throughout was disappointed would of loved to get some especially for my kids but not even outside any peddlers selling GaGa nothing.sad. maybe could of hired some of those clicking hooker cards to sell some braclets would have seen more humane

  39. 39

    All so very fake.

thanks god another situation for tranny caca to fame whore over and stick her ugly face into. someone please get us rid off this disgusting bitch.

  41. 41

I don't think people realize that Japan is rarely accepting money nor do they need money. They are not Haiti (who still need our help by the way). They are a fairly economically stable country. What they need now is food and clothes. I send my prayers to them but this video thing is not helping Japan, it is helping gain publicity… that is all.

  42. 42

  43. 43

Re: MOVE OVER MADONNA :) – Why are you so quick to get rude over someone sharing their opinion? First off HER FANS raised the $1.5 million not her! Second, she really should be matching what her fans have spent on those braclets if she really is such an amazing person. $1.5 million is nothing to someone with her current wealth. Next, if you had any business sense you would know that even if she is the one funding the production of the bracelets, there's plenty of cost behind it. Paying staff, electric bills for equipment, materials ect…. That money could go straight to helping the Japanese, but instead she is using it to say "hey look what I can do to donate." One does not have to make a huge production out of giving, it's called being selfless for a reason!

  44. 44

Re: MOVE OVER MADONNA :) – I like how when someone puts up a valid argument, you instantly jump to curse words, and insults. Seems a little childish, and like you really don't have well thought out opinions. Why do you assume that if GaGa didn't donate people would knock her? There are plenty of celebrities that we aren't hearing about donations from, and no one seems to care. The only reason people have anything to say when a celebrity does donate, is because they publicize it! Plain and simple. Donating is something that should be personal and not flaunted; give because you care, not because you want others to see that you care! Also, your rant about the proceeds from a concert still brings up the point that in order to put that show on, plenty of money had to be spent. Monetary donations straight out of her pocket is what people want to see, and doing a benefit concert is not that.

  45. 45

Justine Bieber's lips are so swollen, he must be sucking a lot of kock.

  46. 46

Re: hello hello 75 – You're fucking stupid as hell. She donated ALL of the money from the merchandise sales too! Get your facts straight.

  47. 47

Re: bridie – Well, maybe if you actually looked into the bracelets and what not, you would have known that they have to go into production first. They just started being shipped on the 25th (last night). Meaning there was no way possible for them to get shipped to the Monster Ball in time for sales there. Be realistic!

  48. 48

Re: Rancidy – You don't deserve a "GURL BYE".. you deserve a "GURL HELLO!" :)

  49. 49

Re: Travis Delap – receipts? o.. yea, thats what i thought

  50. 50

It is truly unfortunate that this has turned into an argument about celebrities being "parasites" or not donating enough of their own money. Everyone should donate as much as they can, so if celebs are being stingy, well, that just shows their character. But they are still doing SOMETHING. And I'm sure the people of Japan don't care if gaga donated the money herself, or if it was raised through those bracelets. It's still going to Japan. This argument shows just how messed up our society is; Instead of being grateful that money is being donated, people are insulting the character of Gaga and Justin. Grow up.

  51. 51

    Every bit helps.

  52. 52

i like how everyones attacking lady gaga whos ACTUALLY DONATING MONEY….and no ones said anything about bieber. sure, hes made videos and tweeted about how we all need to help japan…but he hasnt done ANYTHING. maybe he should consider donating some of his world tour profit? just a thought….instead of asking his 12 year old fans to donate money…seeing as they dont actually have any.

  53. 53

Re: DanielDax – Well said, I completely agree.

  54. 54

Re: ickynicky – Exactly.I wish she and Bieber would just write a check and STFU.

  55. 55

Re: piratecookie – Justin did donate one million dollars of his money.

  56. 56

Re: letsbeserious – Justin has donated 1 million of his own money to Japan. I call that doing something.

  57. 57

Re: Brainbug – Fuck you ugly bitch! You never have anything positive to say. Go to hell!!!!!

  58. 58

Re: kpc212 – Justin donated 1 million of his own money to help Japan. Get your facts straight before you hate on him.

  59. 59

Re: Biebers #1 Fan – no he didnt…the only places it says he donated $1 million are little fan sites…nowhere legit. he hasnt donated anything except his shitty video

  60. 60

Re: Biebers #1 Fan – oh my bad…hes donating a song…great. just what the world needs.

  61. 61

Im so proud of Justin for being so concerned for the people of Japan. His big open heart is one of the many reasons I love him. He donated 1 million of his own dollars to help Japan cause he always said in the past that Japan is one of his favorite countries on the planet. So all you haterz need to stfu and quit hating on him for trying to help out. He's so amazing and sweet, and looks gorgeous in the vid.

  62. 62

Why are people hating on both GaGa and Justin!
As it happens they've both donated atleast $1million each aswell as auctioned stuff or in GaGa's case made bracelets. Why are people more bothered about hating on them than what they are caring about the people.

For God sake get a grip! It's pathetic start appreciating what people have done and start to care about those in need!

  63. 63

Oh and to those saying it's a publicity thing, at what point does Justin Promote himself if either of them are it's GaGa for sure, she mentions her 'monsters' her wristbands and stuff like that Justin is quick and simple.

And I love GaGa so I'm not hating on her.

  64. rbee says – reply to this

She donated 1.5 million unlike Bieber and quite alot of other celebs. All they did was tweet 'pray for japan'!. Give the girl some credit!!.

  65. 65

    Re: Rancidy
"Why do you assume that if GaGa didn't donate people would knock her?"
Come on, be serious. Just read the comments. When someone does donate, people are quick to say it's not enough…this celebrity donated more. If they don't donate, then people talk even more shit. You would be quite naive to think GaGa wouldn't be knocked if she didn't donate. She's already being knocked for doing for what she HAS done.
"One does not have to make a huge production out of giving, it's called being selfless for a reason!"
I've watched the videos, and I fail to see where a huge production was made. But calling attention to your cause helps raise awareness. That is why "people don't care" when celebrities make donations without publicity.
"Monetary donations straight out of her pocket is what people want to see, and doing a benefit concert is not that."
And why do people want to see that? So they can bitch about the amount these celebrities donated? How do you know if she has or hasn't given privately? Maybe she doesn't want that known. Benefit concerts have historically raised peoples consciousness and awareness for decades, dear, and it gives people a chance to collectively do something good. I have yet to see where people frown down upon benefit concerts because they rather see someone give a check.

  66. 66

Re: lynnx87 – you are stupid, uneducated, and ignorant. she raised 250k on the first day. in one week, she made 1.5 million. she donated the whole 1.5 million.

  67. 67

Re: bridie – the bracelets are only being shipped around as of yesterday… (the 25th) so before you start saying shit, educate yourself on the subject. they were only started makin em on the 25th, that is why you didnt see any for sale any where.

  68. 68

Re: Rancidy – you are stupid. you think you are so smart, but your coming off as stupid. her fans did not raise the money. she did. raise does not mean give your own money, it means to collect. its like saying … "save the children" (a charity) did not raise … idk 1.5 million. of course they raised it. and how do you know she did not donate any money of her own?
if she said "OHH I DONATED 2 MILLION OUT OF MY POCKET" you would bash her, saying she only donated for publicity. so who the fuck are you to say she didnt donate?
and yes japan needs money, they can buy clothes and food with that money… pay nurses and doctors to help out and all that jazz.

  69. 69

Re: kpc212 – how about they do both? donate their own money and get their fans to donate…
they both are getting their fans to donate… CHECK.
their money. we dont know if they donated or not. i dont think any one should say they arent doing anything. we dont know how much they donated… and if they said the amount they donated, people would bash them and say its for publicity.

  70. @v@ says – reply to this

Bieber donated 1 Million? Good on ya, Justin!
Putting your money where your mouth is!

  71. 71

Re: @v@ – no he didnt. he hasnt donated anything. hes donating a song

  72. 72

Give them money from one of your tours, you have enough money to retire already, if it hurts you that much.

And ps. im sure bieber didn't even know where Japan was.

  73. 73

Re: kpc212 – Stop fucking lying to people! Justin did donate one million dollars from his own money, and yeah he's also making a song. Whats wrong with that? Why are you going through so much trouble just to hate on him? Leave him alone!

  74. 74

Re: thehuey – Of course Justin knows where Japan is! Are you dumb? He's been there several times and said that its one of his favorite countries on the planet. So think before you speak.

  75. 75

That's so nice of her, she helps them with money and she also makes her fans help them. Everything she donates doesn't have to come out from her own pocket. So that is just fantastic that she does something like this.

  76. 76

IT should come out of her pocket. All the money she has, and she has to ask for her fans that are already buying all her bullshit priced tickets, merchandise, etc? And she can't donate it herself/match them? That's a greedy cop out, and I wouldn't be surprised if she kept some of the money. :)

  77. 77

Re: bridie – they are on sale online only.

  78. 78

Re: Biebers #1 Fan – why dont YOU stop lying..he hasnt donated a million dollars. where did you get that information? not any legitimate site im sure….and why do YOU go to so much trouble to defend him? everyones entitled to an opinion…and mine just so happens to be that justin bieber is an arrogant, poorly spoken, annoying teen sensation. he compares himself to michael jackson and kurt cobain…i mean really? really?! more like jesse mccartney…

  79. 79

Re: kpc212 – Well, maybe he don't wan't publicity like many other celebs. Maybe he actually did donate one million dollars. You can think what you want but he does a lot for charity and you can see that he really cares

  80. 80

you guys really havent got any brains at all, have you? Lady Gaga KNOWS her fans will buy those bracelets by the truckload, that is why she set up the fund for Japan. that's very clever of her. they both did a good thing.
