CBS Evening News Roundup: Katie's Most Likely Out, But Who Shall Replace Her?!

Hmm…decisions, decisions!

Although it hasn't been confirmed, everyone pretty much knows that Katie Couric will be leaving her position as the anchor for CBS Evening News once her five-year contract expires in June, and no one seems particularly certain on who is going to succeed her!

According to sources close to the situation, chairman Jeff Fager is looking at potentials both inside and outside of the network, although the biggest contender at this point is veteran 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley!

Fager has apparently been favoring the newsman since Couric began contemplating the move, but apparently the position is not set in stone, because network execs may want to see someone with more celebrity than him to boost ratings!

Inneresting - especially because that's why they brought Couric in the first place, and yet the ratings still didn't pick up! Makes us think that maybe Fager should go with his gut and pick Pelley!

Who do U think should take over for Couric?? Scott Pelley or someone else?

NOT Scott Pelley, please! Lure Chris Cuomo over from ABC.

  2. 2

Glad to see her go ! Talk about a fish out of water, what fool thought she could be taken seriously.
Now if we could just get rid of Diane Sawyer on ABC and her condescending " mommy " approach to delivering the news

  3. 3

well if they thought K.Couric could do the job maybe they should interview Elmo
    ……….

  4. 4

Oh so happy she is leaving! Big see you next Tuesday! Wont be missed

Wow, what a bunch of sexists people on here. Katie rocks. Personally, I would like to see some of those stoic men who try and compete with her go.

  6. 6

    Charlie Sheen.

  7. 7

    Anderson Cooper.
    .
katie was a total failure. She tried to make her bones on Sarah Palin and it backfired on her.
    .
Katie should have stayed with daytime, haus-frau TV. She was never good enough for Prime Time.

    How can this happen?
How could someone using a dead persons SS# make it to President, without being exposed?

Thank you Commie Kate and Whoopie and Joy and the rest of you.
Thanks for never asking him a real question and covering for the Marxist disaster we're stuck with.
We're on the brink of real fucking Revolution here, Katie!

  9. 9

Almost anyone would be an improvement. They should try someone with fewer axes to grind.

  10. 10

    Good riddance. Can't stand her!

  11. 11

Scott Pelley is the WORST!! He's a sexist pig. Just go back and view the 60 minutes story he did on Melinda Gates. He criticized her for not wearing enough makeup…. excuse me!!

Now that Katie Couric received 5 million dollars for her short stint on the CBS Evening News we all know that the next in line was Brian Williams when she was
given the job. She was a mistake from the start but CBS has a way of fixing their
mistakes in 5 years….so tell me, what does CBS have to do with another conference room full of execs that have no loyalty to their staff? Scott Pelley? I see another 5 year mistake to be justified.

Why do we have to click to read the rest of the blog. This is really stupid Perez. Are you getting paid on how many clicks you get or are you just still an aggravating asshole?

Brian Williams. Oh, wait, he's on NBC. Don't bother. No matter who they bring in, CBS will still be 3rd.
