It's Official: Kunis Is On For OZ

Mila Set As Wicked Witch

Mila Kunis, who had been rumored to be in talks for Oz, The Great And Powerful, has officially signed on.

The last we heard, we heard from her herself about not knowing for sure if she could do it.

As it turns out, it looks like she can!

She'll be joining the ever-interesting James Franco, who is taking the lead role of a charming illusionist/con man who gets swept away to Oz, where he finds that magic is very real. Kunis is set to play the wicked witch Theodora, who isn't so wicked at first.

Sam Raimi is set to direct!

If they get this right, it could add so much more meaning to the first film, and the eventual death of the Wicked Witch. New motivations could be afoot!

So, are U happy she's been snagged for the role??

Inspired choice. I'd also see her as Dorothy.

    she should consider other options………..

So excited! James is my current obsession and Mila is totes my girl crush so I'am really hoping for a Kuniz/Franco hookup. That would be so hot. And James is waaaaayyy better than Timberdouche.

this sounds an awful lot like the play wicked…. just saying

Definitely NOT Wicked…nothing can match up to Wicked. That's why I hope the Wicked film will be as decent as the play, but as good as the book.
MAYBE this idea will be okay, too?? After this, they should stop re-doing the W.O.O.

k this is weird but in this pic she totally reminds me of a brunette Taylor Swift… just sayin lol

I like Sam Raimi so i'll watch it… as long as they don't muck up the casting.

Mila, good casting. More excited to see the visual created by TWO TIME,and two year in a row academy award winner Robert Stromberg of Avatar and Alice and Wonderland fame…..Next up the casting of Glynda, the good witch….rumor has it that many have auditioned but no one has been cast….

I think it's fucked that Gregory Maguire, who penned this idea so VERY well with his novel Wicked, won't be getting credit for his very inspired story. Because, although nothing could TOP Wicked, this is the very core of its original story. Not cool, and hopefully not legal. Hollywood is full of thieves.. guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Re: Benjamin A. Akre – Too bad L. Frank Baum won't get any credit for this or wicked since they are basically just fan fics…
