They Have Begun! X Factor Auditions Start Up In El Lay!

x factor auditions have begun

The new talent cometh!

On Sunday morning, US X Factor auditions officially began at the L.A. Sports Arena.

Simon Cowell, Antonio "L.A." Reid, and other potential judge contenders weren't in attendance at the audition event, but approximately 15,000 potential X-Factor stars DID stop by to show off their skillz!

Here's what executive producer Rob Wade, who WAS in attendance, had to say about the auditions:

"It's intangible. It's something you feel in your heart. When you see somebody sing, that's what it is, and you and I would have the same opinion about that. You'll see it on stage and be like, 'Wow, that person's got the X factor.'"

Auditions will continue in Miami, New Jersey, Seattle, Chicago, and Dallas.

Good luck, potential X-Factorials!

    Uh,no you toolbag…..IT STARTED SATURDAY!

Dear jeebus what the hell is wrong with you? Seriously?

The X-Factor is a sham. It will be nothing more than ringers, with a few random real people thrown in. Here's proof… and I swear it's true. We parked next to a beautiful blonde on Sunday morning, struck up a conversation and asked her how long she had to wait in line Friday night. "I didn't have to wait," she said. " I know people in production, they sent me a letter." She had a FedEx envelope with her. Said her name was "Brandi." We asked what she did. She said "A little bit of everything. I'll be singing with the Philharmonic in August" Looked her up on Google when we got home. Brandi Burkhardt, a well-known Broadway leading lady ("Mama Mia" and "A Tale of Two Cities"),,, an ex-Miss New York with a dozen TV and movie credits. She's got her own super-pro website. If there's one ringer, there are probably dozens. Perez, look into this. Blow the whistle on this "reality show", which leaves countless of hopefuls in tears, believing there's a level playing field. (BTW, in interests of fairness, the singer I accompanied was cut, but made it through three rounds of judging on American Idol two years ago, so s/he can obviously sing.

One more thing. I have no problem with Brandi being on the show, she's an exceptionally beautiful woman, with one of the best voices I've heard. I just have a problem with her being invited to be on the show and not having to tough it out and compete fairly with the rest of us.

God, I can't wait ’til X-Factor/ American Idol goes away…..then we can get on to some real entertainment.

Re: Watchdog – The sad thing is, I believe you, but am still going to try out…. I dont understand why AI and XF is doing this to people, if youre going to do close Auditions, say so, dont get people hopes up and kill their dreams, when youre only looking for small indie singers around the city, why cant a person in line win the show? If you only want indie singers, then say it, why lie to people, what have these people done to get their heart riped out, just because their not the insider pick.. Its evil sham to get people to watch the show, untill I'am shown otherwise..

Re: Watchdog – IT'S ABSOLUTELY TRUE!!! STARTED WITH IDOL IDIOTS LETTING RECORDING ARTISTS (THEREFORE PRO'S) ENTER IN THE COMPETITION LIKE 3 YRS AGO I BELIEVE… TONS OF THEM CAN AUDITION AS LONG AS THEY DONT "CURRENTLY" HAVE A RECORDING CONTRACT FOR AT LEAST 2 YRS OR SOMETHING. SO TECHNICALLY YOU CAN BE A PRO, SELL MILLIONS OF ALBUMS, TOURED ALL OVER THE WORLD BUT AS LONG AS YOU MEET THE CURRENT CRITERIA THEN YOU'RE A SHOE IN. WTF?? TOTALLY RHITARDED FOR REALZ!! CASE IN POINT, FRENCHIE DAVIS, A FORMER IDOL CONTESTANT A FEW YRS BACK IS AN AUDITIONER FOR "THE VOICE", NBC'S NEW SINGER CONTEST. EXCEPT SHE'S BEEN A PROFESSIONAL BROADWAY SINGER AND ACTRESS SINCE IDOL, BEEN ON NUMEROUS TALK SHOWS, SANG ON TV MANY TIMES, BUT SHE'S NEVER HAD A RECORDING CONTRACT PERSAY. WORD IS SHE WENT ON "THE VOICE" AND WAS CHOSEN BY CHRISTINA AGUILERA FOR HER TEAM. SOOO EXPECT TO SEE HER WHEN THAT LAME SERIES STARTS IN THE NEXT MONTH. LET THE SET-UP'S BEGIN…

  9. 9

SOOO THE ONLY REAL PERSON "AVERAGE-EVERY-DAY-PERSON-ON-THE-STREET WINNER" WAS KELLY CLARKSON. THE REST OF THESE BLOKES ARE ALL SET-UPS.

  10. 10

I don't care if pros can audition. Doesn't bother me at all. I care that they're invited in and given essentially a free pass by the producers… brought in under the guise of being "real people."

My friend, Bobby, is in that picture…black hat behind girl in front wearing blue hooded jacket. He made it to the 3rd round…so far. He is super talented! Goooooo Bobby D!!!

Re: Watchdog – It True! i was There….honestly i saw some of the best talent get cut the first round….thed only way u will get let in is if you are a clown!!!!! only a few actually good singers go though bt most is for ratings! im not going to pretend…i have an amazing voice and i gave it 120% at that audition, i was one of the first in line, didnt talk rested alot and came in and got cut! :( it will tear u down!!! no matter how hard you try….you will always have a better chance of winning the lottery. and honestly i wouldnt care much if they were to let REAL talent through cuz i have been turned down beofre and if there are ppl who have a better chance than go ahead, but when u send clowns through??? thats not fair, to some of us, this is our life, not 1 minute on TV!!!

Re: Oscar Perez – One of the advantages of the "blind auditions" of the Voice, is that they are able to put talents up that some of the viewing public may already know and also be open at their upfront talent scouting efforts.

Their online audition tool might be more appropriate for you and then hope they approach you.

The prime effect of that approach with the "blind auditions" is that there are no singing failures. Off course some have had nerve problems. But that's professional risk.

Also, "the Voice" allows auditioneers to rehearse with the band before doing the "blind audition".

So maybe next year that show would suits your skills much better.
