What Will Happen To Elizabeth Taylor's Post-Passing Income?

| Filed under: Legal MattersElizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth's Future Estate Is In Question

So it's pretty much all been worked out what will happen to Elizabeth Taylor's estate now that she has passed. Her jewelry will be auctioned off for her AIDS charity, her children will split a portion four ways, and the rest will go to other certain charities of her liking.

But what about the money she's going to make even though she's gone?

Elizabeth Arden says they'll still sell her perfume, and what about rereleases of movies, and businesses she was a part of? What happens to all of that?

We're not sure, and nobody else really is either. That's why there has been some clashing starting up because of it:

"The one thing she didn't do was understand that, much like Elvis and Michael Jackson, she might be worth more in death. This is what has already started to cause friction between family, business managers and the many charities that meant so much to Elizabeth."

That does seem like a major thing not to think of, but we're optimistic that they can all come to some sort of agreement. Though it is money, and money sometimes makes people fight extra hard… but that wasn't Elizabeth, and if they have any kind of respect for her, they will deal with the issues respectfully!

How do U think they should handle this??

That's not everybody's kind of business.

I think all the income after her passing should be split equally with her kids and her charities. I'm surprised she never set that up in advance… odd. Too bad money gets the best of some people to the point where it causes friction with family members… specially siblings… so sad :(

It'll go the way her will dictates. Otherwise to her heirs. Not really up to popular opinion.

It's hard enough to mediate it all without random strangers giving their two cents
after someone passes. I'm sure they have it handled, and there are skilled professionals who help sort out this kind of thing if they do hit a rut.

Her 4 children should get all future earnings. They can then give what they want to her charities.

What is "split a porting four ways"? Re-releasing of movies? Her residuals are over by now, there's almost always been a cap or a length of time to all of those contract agreements. But what will make money is her image. Is everyone aware that Lucas is working on a new movie process that has current stars acting alongside classic movie actors who are long dead? This will be a complicated issue in the future for all inheritors.

Mario, the woman's body isn't even COLD yet!

Whatever each benefactors percentage of the estate was, is the same percentage they would each get from future residuals.

It should be split between her children. No questions asked. If this post proves to be true (which I doubt), greedy business managers are clearly going to get involved and make this process difficult, which is unfortunate. I guess everyone has to get a piece of the pie, whether they deserve it or not.

Due to Ms. Taylor's fame, the money should be divided between the 4 children of Ms. Taylor. Let them decide how they spend their share, my father always told us charity starts at home. We don't give to charities, we work too hard for our money to give it away.

    Belongs to Family.

  12. 12

If she did not designate a beneficiary, the post death assets should be divided equally between her 4 children. They then can decide what to do with the money.

  13. 13

the percentage that was used to split it between her children and her favorite charities should be used for her estate too…pretty simple just split the estate the same way…

  14. 14

It should be handled quietly and not through the media. Let the woman rest in peace. Money is the root of all evil.

Maybe she didn't want anyone to make money from her name after the death. She left the kids and the charities enough. We know she cared about them and now they can start trying to make it on their own.

Re: UstinkA – I agree with this solution.

  17. 17

Don't you think that it is the licensing of her name? Oh well, you won't have these problems when you die, Perez

I think that the additional money that is made in earnings from her death, should still be divided by her children, and any of the many charities she has supported. The children are her heirs and should get the money, as
in any other family. It is only right. Just because she is famous should not come into play.

As to Brit, I would not pay to go and see her, even if it was cheap. She comes late, leaves early, and
lip-syncs a lot of the show.
