Cheryl Burke Speaks Out Against Chris Brown

Cheryl Burke Speaks Out Against Chris Brown

ABC seems to be OK with Chris Brown's behavior, or at least OK enough to let him come on Dancing with the Stars.

Cheryl Burke, on the other hand, is not OK with it. She’s pissed!

"As a victim of domestic violence, I don't agree with him coming on the show, but it's out of my control," said Burke.

Brown is scheduled to perform two songs tonight on the show.

All we have to say is this: WTF, ABC??!!! Have some decency and don’t let him on the show!

Perez, fuck off. I'll watch him.

  2. 2

Beat Her Down is a sack of shit. I bet Cheryl just wants to vomit having to participate tonight.

  3. 3

Why shouldn't he be on the show? What should he be punished for how? His fans deserve to see him. If you or anyone else don't care to see his performance you don't have to watch. You are you to judge. The bible says "thou shall not judge" - guess you are not aware of the spoken word.

  4. 4

Oh well ABC is letting it happen. Burke all you have to do is not watch or better yet don't show up.

  5. 5

They'll let chris brown back on, but what about their beef with Adam lambert, will they ever let him back on GMA?

  6. 6

I feel awful for Cheryl. I saw her GMA interview and she has suffered a lot of abuse from worthless women beaters like Chris Brown. My heart goes out to her and to all the viewers of the show who are victims of domestic violence, or women who have even been punched in the face once by any man.
After he destroyed property at GMA I cannot believe ABC is letting him back on one of their shows. It makes me sick.

  7. 7

I agree. He still has a very short FUSE and he is not sorry for what he did and he has not changed. He needs SERIOUS anger management.

I will not watch the night he is on. His music is not even good anyway in my opinion — but thats not really important. I will not watch a show that promotes him for their own bottom line, which is to make money getting people to watch. THAT IS WRONG.

He's an abusive person with a HUGE EGO who has no remorse. If he had any remorse, he would not have overreacted at GMA.

That these people continue to be promoted amazes me.

  8. 8

Well, apparently RIRI likes to be beat up, so who knows mabe the guy is innocent of beating the crap out of her. Cheryl Burke only wanted her name in the press, to be talked about as she hasn't been rumored to be sleeping with her teammate this season yet. RiRi is not as innocent as she seems or such a victim, anyways, I am not a fan of Chris the incredible HULK Brown either, so I won't be watching that show either.

  9. 9

one person's trash = another person's treasure… time to give it up!!! I believe the whole Chris Brown/Rihanna thing was a whole PR stunt from the elite anyways. In order for Rihanna to become a puppet, she had to do what they wanted her to do which means bringing a person to their lowest…

Plus she's into the whole S&M thing anyways :)

  10. 10

Perez you're SO fickle one minute you are on someones side then in your next post you're against them. Do you not have a mind of your own?

  11. 11

She needs to shut her mouth!! Who cares what she thinks. These little game show hosts think they are celebrities are something else.

  12. 12

Regardless of the situation with R, even if you call that old news that he has "paid for"; this b.s. of raging out and tossing a chair and causing all of that damage just a week ago is enough of a reason that they shouldn't want him on. The dude is a walking time-bomb with serious anger issues, and his tantrum ALSO says that the women are not yet safe with him. PERIOD. He does NOT have his anger under control. It controls him, even when his entire rep is on the line. That was sad and pathetic behavior at GMA. If dude isn't in control, look OUT ladies!

  13. 13

I have never watched DWTS before but I was really considering it this year because they have some interesting people on it. But now I will NEVER watch the show. I think its disgusting that they are giving the spotlight to a female beater who just freaked out in one of the ABC studios. It makes me beyond fucking sick.
At the very least they could wait until he's off probation in a few years to start putting him on any tv show again. That goes for all the networks. He doesn't deserve an ounce of the spotlight until then.

  14. 14

we WON'T be tuning in at this house!

  15. 15

Agreed. I won't be watching. I can find out the results online this week.

  16. 16

Re: Pacific Ocean Gal – I agree with everything you said. For ABC to promote him is just wrong. And why the hell is it on this show in the first place. The douche doesn't have a fan over 21 years old and DWTS is not quite the type of show kids watch in the first place.

  17. 17

He worked hard to get to where he is today. This is a DANCE show and he is a good dancer. If Charlie Sheen can go to award shows people should have no problem with 2 damn performances

  18. 18

How about Cheryl Burke shut the fuck up and do what she's paid to do, dance around in skimpy dresses. Let the man do what he does, sing. For heaven's sake this was 2 damn years ago and people won't let it go. Rihanna has and Chris has, now for the public to let it go. Especially Perez.

  19. 19

You people are crazy! Let the boy dance… no one else besides Beyonce and Chris Brown can give a terrific performance. #moveon btw, the Rihanna/Chris incident was an isolated incident, for those who don't understand, Isolated incident means that it happened one time. You people act like he beat her everyday. You people are Sick and obviously needs more things to do!! I suggest buying his album and listening to it.

  20. 20

Funny… from a guy who was infamous for being a total d-bag… and calling Will.I.Am a [gay derogatory term] and got owned for it and being a hypocrite… it's sort of ironic that you don't preach forgiveness. I guess we can right off anyone who's ever cheated, lied, physically hurt, emotionally insulted, or basically ever caused anyone else any emotional baggage… EVER!

Once again, I don't think a woman should ever be hit short of self-defense (like, "omg she's got a knife and she's coming right at me!"), but, seriously, Perez… your level of hypocrisy and "high-horse" mentality is ridiculous.

  21. 21

Re: !hateperez – Do not bring the bible into this. The bible also says respect your neighbor and your lovely Chris Brown failed to understand that. He is not acknowledging his actions and his little tantrums are going to happen again. Face the facts because this latest stint shows that his anger has not been managed. His music isnt even good either.

  22. 22

Re: Cherish R. – that does not mean it wont happen again, didnt we just see what happened with the GMA offices. You people have to stop saying " it was two years ago leave him alone" you dont know how pathetic and stupid that sounds obviously, i cant go out into the real world beat the shit out of a woman and 2 years later say, that was two years ago. Crime is not a thing that you can say it happened yesterday today is a different day. And do not say he payed his dues, he got a fucken slap on the wrist, he got community service hours for which he had the press next to him 24/7. His actions and words to this day still say i am clearly not sorry

  23. 23

Can we say.. RATINGS?? ABC knows exactly what they are doing and it's shameful.

    Right on, Cheryl!!

Seriously.. This guy continues with his bad behavior OVER AND OVER..

This is supposed to be a "family" show. WTF. So disappointed, ABC.

  24. 24

Excuse me! He did the crime AND he did the time! Enough is enough!! I too I'm a victim of domestic violence and I'm proud to see CB making amends. Let it go people! He was a kid! EVERYONE makes mistakes. The issue is in learning from them. You've VIOLATED a bunch of people Perez with your bullying yet we've forgiven you and have continued to support you as we watch you make amends. He deserves the same. Cheryl, I'm sorry for what you've been through but don't blame Chris for it!! I will definitely be tuning in to watch ANYTHING CB is on so far as he continues on the right path.

    Don't throw stones people.

  25. 25

Re: yeaman – It also says not to judge which you clearly are doing. And as for "respect your neighbors" you should probably heed that too as Chris is also a "neighbor" of yours.

  26. 26

Chris Brown did not hit a woman…. he BEAT her. Yes, it was two years ago and people can be forgiven, but that doesn't mean it goes away either. He has to answer to that for the rest of his life… and do so without throwing chairs through windows and cursing people out. If his fans still want to make him rich and look up to him, that's fine. But a good family show like DWTS should have nothing to do with him. When will people stop rewarding bad behavior!!?

  27. 27

Re: hcoboy – You're right it isn't a thing that can just be forgotten but it must be forgiven. His sentencing was not lifetime imprisonment or persecution. He did his sentence already and last I heard in this country once you do your time and are ok with the law, you have the right to start fresh which he's trying to do.

Don't get me wrong, I hated him for what he did and wouldn't turn on a song of his for the life of me, but he's made his amends and that's commendable. Moving on now!

  28. 28

Re: Cherish R. – you are crazy if you think it's ok to hit anyone, even once.

it is so tiring to see these celebs getting special treatment because they are famous. no amount of talent makes it ok to put your hands on someone or having fits and destroying property. i could care less how talented he may be, there will always be someone else who is just as good. i feel the same way about that pig Vick getting back into the NFL. i could care less if he's talented, he's disgusting and shouldn't be allowed to play again or make that kind of money. what do these messages tell our youth? that it's ok to beat people and animals oh but only if you're talented/rich/in the media. why don't we start teaching our youth morals by not letting these assholes in the spotlight anymore.

  29. 29

ABC is the house of horrible decisions of late.
First they don't press charges or his douche bagery when someone could have been harmed or killed. I'm totally team Tom and Cheryl and I will not watch anything Chris Brown.

Next was this mornings Fake Lip Syncing disaster, with Britney dancing like Wendy Williams on DWTS in Cement Boots!

  30. 30

Re: hcoboy – Lets just agree to disagree. You may not like him and you may go to his concerts and performances and picket them (with signs). But I will be the one front row enjoying his performance. ALSO he will still be Number 1 on the billboard chart… this coming week too. So POW Chris Brown punch right to ur face!!!

  31. 31

Re: hcoboy – Oh yea, it hasn't happened again, which makes it an isolated incident, like i said in my earlier post. If u touch the stove when its on and u realized ur burned, I highly doubt you will do it again.

  32. 32

Well someone should tell Cheryl that no one likes "the other woman" either but they let her on the show.. she is gross..

  33. 33

Re: shhhhh – Ummm- he SMASHED a window last week at GMA raining glass down on the street. That is not a rehabilitated person. Sorry…DWS is a family friendly show, and I hardly think Chris Brown's behavior (especially recent behavior) is NOT family friendly.

  34. 34

Im watching. I love watching him perform.

  35. 35

Re: hotcanadiantaco – I don't condone his behavior. He was 19 when this happened. I'm pretty sure you did some things when you were 19 that you won't think about doing now. Besides, IDK about you but with the talent Chris Brown has, he deserves an open mind. Trust me I understand where all of you are coming from. Can you try and understand where I am coming from? If not then I suggest enrolling in college or university and taking a philosophy course. Some reading materials I suggest: Socrates "Apology" and MLK "A Letter From a Birmingham Jail".

  36. 36

It's funny how Charlie sheen is a raging hot mess admits to sleeping with hookers, cocaine use . He held a knife to his ex wife and always threating to kill every girl that he is with but somehow he is genius. But Chris brown made two mistake and everyone wants to burn him at the stake like in Salem. Rhianna has move on she does not talk about it no one ask her about it but yet the keep harassing Chris brown about the situation Cheryl Burke is a home wrecker hoe and she is using Chris brown name to get into the press again. Just like Taylor Hicks did with the Christina aguilera messing up with the national anthem Perez is so fake just a couple weeks ago he was all hype over one of Chris brown song. If Rhianna move on and she living her life and she happy and Chris deserve to have somewhat of happiness to

  37. 37

Re: hotcanadiantaco – Please don't talk about "Morals for the youth" when it's "Their" agenda anyway. Who's "Their"? one might ask, go to www.vigilantcitizen.com and educate yourself.

  38. 38

Are you kidding me about not letting him on the show? He did the crime, he did the time - leave him alone. Let me ask you that since homosexuality is a crime in certain countries - would you bar them from entertaining as well? Ridiculous. Who cares what the crime is - you are no judge - he is a free man now - leave him be.

  39. 39

I will watch him he is hot as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!He can slap me anyday that would be hot

  40. 40

rihanna has already put perez in his spot (on a leash) iuno why he still comments about chris:S seems more personal then the riri thing..what rlly happend perez?

  41. 41

Re: shhhhh – To bad I do not follow the bible and really? Applying the bible to a gossip forum? Chris Brown hit someone. His latest actions shows that he has not moved on. People do jail for 30 years, get out, and then commit the same crime again. If he clearly wants to show that he actually is changed, he would not be getting angry for some stupid stuff like an interview that did not go his way. He is in the spotlight and he knows his actions will be watched. People are going to bring up his past and if he cannot handle it, he should not be famous.

  42. 42

Re: Cherish R. – Yes, thank you. I actually do go to college and I actually am in a philosophy class but no where does that help me accept the fact that Chris Brown can slide through all of this stuff. The incident of him hitting Rihanna couldve happened many times without any of us even knowing. It is not an isolated incident when you have no idea if it has happened before. If he is such a changed man, he would not be throwing 5 year old tantrums because he did not get his way.

  43. 43

Re: othefan21 – I guess there are some rational people on this site. lol. I agree wholeheartedly.
For the rest of you saying he needs to pay… well all I can say is, pay for your own crimes first because I am damn sure every single one of you are guilty of some crime! I know im not perfect, but im sorry for it and I live and learn to be a better person.

  44. 44

how long does Chris Brown have to pay for what happened. I do not condone domestic violence, but Chris Brown has served his punishment. He's not OJ Simpson.

  45. 45

charlie sheen and so many other celebs are women beater, i dont see them getting ban or strayed from. actually i think charlie sheen is having a great life right now with all of his interviews raking in the money yet, we're ready to crucify a kid who obviously made a mistake and still has a lot to learn from it. who are we to tear someone down when their trying to pick themselves up. when someone knocks you down, you try to get back up but when ppl keeps kicking you back..you can't help but to get aggravated. and no im not one to support his behavior but we all just need to move on from it, rihanna did why cant u?

  46. 46

Re: yeaman – When he was 18 years old…..oh godddddd. I can with all these SUPER DRAMATIC people! what is this hate doing for you?..

  47. 47

Stop fucking hating on Chris perez!….jeesh…compared to half of the fukin nobodies on the show..i think people would be a lot more interested to see CB on the show!
If charlie sheen can go on talk shows and stuff…then i think CB can go on a dancing show…he's born to dance!

  48. 48

Re: yeaman – There's no sense in going back and forth. Obviously you don't understand what I am saying, take a Philosophy class to help you think, not to accept Chris Brown's behavior. The hardest thing a person can do is think from a different perspective. Please stay in philosophy class. Did you see his AWESOME performance of Forever/Beautiful People on DWTS!? He received a standing Ovation!! #TEAMBREEZY :o )

  49. 49

To punish him for something that happened 2 years ago is ridiculous. Yeah I understand what he did was HORRIBLE. Even though he messed up that GMA room, everyone should just forgive & forget because he obviously still has some issues & he DID apologize for his actions so hes obviously trying to change & move forward. so stop hating on him, & just let him be & promote his new album.. btw i dont listen to him at all so don't think i'm saying all this just because i'm a fan, because i'm not. :)

  50. 50

Re: yeaman – Also, you have to stop thinking "What if". For example: "What if Chris Brown hit Rihanna on other occasions and What if the shards of glass fell on people down below?" There is no WHAT IF, there's only WHAT IS. Here are the facts that are presented to us: Rihanna and Chris had 1 incident, also the shards of glass hit the concrete. These are facts that we know. This is what people should go by. You can use your IMAGINATION all you want but those are the facts that were presented to us, which makes it REALITY.

  51. 51

He paid his dues. Give him a second chance.

  52. 52

    THIS STORY IS MADE UP!

  53. 53

im with her a million percent!

  54. 54

LEAVE CHRIS BROWN ALONE! You are setting a double standard here by saying he isn't forgiven. Are all people that are given speeding tickets assumed to speed the rest of their lives? Are all people that received a DUI assumed to be driving drunk at all times? Of course not, both of those statement are ridiculous. So if a man is slapped in the face by a woman and hits her back, admits his mistake, accepts the consequences of his actions, completes all his community service, shouldn't we assume that he will not make that same mistake again? We all forget that she slapped him in the face first, so that was okay, but the second he defended himself, he's demonized for the remainder of his career? No, I'm sorry, I disagree with you here. We should allow him to carry on with his professional career and stop the HARASSMENT TOWARDS HIM BY YOU PEREZ!

  55. 55

I dont like what he did AT ALL! but enough with the witch hunt already let the man try if he fails the public with let him know. Lets move on.

  56. 56

Re: shhhhh – You are so incredibly full of shit, just like every other disgusting woman that sticks up for this asshole. There is NO way ANY woman that was physically abused by a man would support this guy. He's obviously ignorant (big surprise there) and can't get his anger under control. ABC is doing nothing more than using him for ratings. NO WOMAN deserves to be beaten the way she was. NO this isn't a case of "well you don't know what went on" - did you not see the pictures? No, I won't be buying his album, or tuning in to see him perform on any show, because I don't support ignorant, ghetto woman beaters.

  57. 57

Re: Cherish R. – Hmmm. Ignorant and ghetto much?

  58. 58

Who the fuck is Cheryl Burke

  59. 59

Shame on you ABC. I too, didnt tune in for tonights show.

  60. ONIT says – reply to this

    60

I'm sick of this topic. Why can't everybody stop? I wonder how much money that jealous woman had to pay the press to omit that she was the one who hit Chris first in the car while he was driving. Also wonder how huge the deal was, so that he took all the blame. Probably not enough. He has to deal with it even nowadays. It's a shame public ignores violence by women. Women are beaters, rapists and murderers, too.

  61. 61

Re: Cherish R. – I find your comments quite ironic. You talk about philosophy as if it is of any relevance when it comes abuse - it's not. You talk about education, "craziness" and recommend books on philosphy etc., while you rationalize what he did so you don't have to feel bad for liking him. You may study the love of wisdom, but that does not automatically mean that you're wise. There is nothing concrete about philosophy, thus many people love using it to make arguments which in the end only seems irrational. Brown has displayed a behaviour consistent with antisocial personality disorder, which would tell you that his tendency to violence is not something that will pass, nor are they mistakes. He will have more victims to come in the future, and he will always have supporters like you to defend him. And the sad part is, antisocials love people like you, because you make it so much easier for them to exist without ever really have to pay the consequences of their actions. You can rationalize and philosophize all you want to make yourself comfortable, but the truth is, stubborn ignorance like yours is and will always be dangerous.

  62. 62

HIS PERFORMANCE WAS AMAZING!!!! & props to his amazing dancers too!!!

  63. 63

let him be now, its over. All deserves a new chance and not just once.. . Love saves… Love heals. Love ease. Love is the best thing u can show/give to anyone. Give hope to all…

  64. 64

    Agreed

  65. 65

Chris has done some wrong, but the guy is talented!! He rocked it out!!

  66. 66

I love how all the Chris Brown fans are condoning his violent behavior against women. They should stop to think "What if it was me or my daughter?" There is NO EXCUSE for putting your hands on a woman AT ALL.

  67. 67

Re: CrazyCanadianChick – You are completely insane. NO man should ever lay his hands on a woman EVER!

  68. 68

Re: cynical me – the issue is that he has now shown that he is a walking time bomb with the incident on GMA. He obviously has NOT learned anything about controlling his anger as was evidenced on GMA.

  69. 69

Well Cheryl.. he didn't beat ur ass did he? He committed his transgressions about two years ago and I'm fukin over the Chris Brown hating. That said he is a talent SOB that give a fukin good performance! Perez u're so pathetic.. you don't know who you want to like from who you want to help tear down. Forgive and fukin forget.. but we all know thats not a part of the American media's vocabulary! smft

  70. 70

Amazing how "family values" people & companies think it's awful 4 people 2 b gay (Adam Lambert) but think it's fine 4 guys 2 abuse women.

  71. 71

Re: !hateperez – people have a problem with it because he obviously hasnt worked out his anger issues. what if he flips a lid on the show tonite? and to be perfectly honest with you, its pretty pathetic that you "hate perez" but you still insist on looking at the website he runs and commenting. jealously maybe?

  72. 72

Chris Brown killed it on Dancing with the stars.. he put on a better dance show then all of the contestants combined. And as for anything Perez has to say.. who cares. You, Perez, are not the judge or the jury and your opinion hardly matters. People need to learn to seperate celebrities personal lives from their art form. And hasn't ms burke been in her own scandals while being a host for the show.. Drew Lachey ring any bells?

  73. 73

….also anyone else notice that Perez didn't post the performances…. hmm maybe because he knows Chris did awesome last night- and danced his ass off!!! Subtle bullying eh Perez… :)

  74. 74

Re: shhhhh – LOL loved your comment that threw the dudes theory back in his own face. Nothing like owning someone with simple subtleties :)

  75. 75

Re: Cherish R. – I like how you can comment people and shed light on both sides of the situation without having to result to name calling. :) *applause for you*

  76. 76

Re: othefan21 – Thank you for pointing out the Cheryl Burke married man affair drama.. How dare her pass judgement on him for his mistakes.. when the skeletons in her closet are piled up in masses!

  77. 77

Re: moxiecrimefighter – The only ignorant person i see is you. None of her comments give off the hint of being ignorant or ghetto… clearly you are making assumptions off your own ignorance. pathetic.

  78. 78

I don't believe that somebody said that Chris beating Rihanna was just an isolated incident?? how about the same person who did it smashing a window glass? Was it also an isolated incident? How many of them were allowed to happen until people realize that it was an isolated incident? Wait until he is dissappointed with the judges' decision or his dance partner's act or words and he will be outrageous. He should change his name to Cruel instead Chris. He is stupid period, he doesn't deserve to be supported for his stupid actions!!!!!!

  79. 79

Asking Network/Studio executives to be decency is like asking a lawyer to be honest… it aint gonna happen.

  80. 80

Re: Everything popular is wrong. – If you have read ALL of my posts, you will comprehend that i'm NOT saying that philosophy will excuse his behavior. I'm saying that people have a tendency to think one way. Philosophy will open minds to look for understanding rather than judging/labeling.

  81. 81

Re: Everything popular is wrong. – I think you should scroll up and reread all of my post. I DO NOT CONDONE HIS BEHAVIOR. ALSO, I thought the consequences for his actions was 5 years probation and community service. Didn't he complete his community service? Has he violated probation? I don't think so. I think you may need an advance class in philosophy so you can think on a different level. Just because you found a way to use "thus" in a sentence doesn't make you a philosophy king/queen (whichever you prefer). You of all people should know how to think outside of the box.

  82. 82

Re: MsJules – Thanks and you know what… it isn't that hard :-)

  83. 83

Re: mitri2010 – Do you even know what you're talking about?

  84. 84

Re: Cherish R. – He technically would have violated his probation if GMA actually pressed charges. There goes the special treatment for celebrities again. So ok, if you have a daughter and she says her boyfriend punched her face in once but "its ok, because he is picking trash off the street". And then the boy says he is changed but then he starts throwing things across a room where people could potentially get hurt. Would you want that guy anywhere near your daughter? I think not. No philosophy class is going to make me understand this any more clearer. Read this post and you would be lying if you said that you would want your daughter near him. I do not care who he is, Rihanna was someones daughter and no women should have to go through that. Saying it was a isolated incident is bullshit because I could get mad at someone right now and I would not hit them. It is the fact that he claims to be changed and still proves that statement wrong.

  85. 85

I watched DWTS last night, but while he was on–I muted the tv and read a book. I refuse to do anything to
    promote that slime

  86. 86

    Go Chris…he did good!

  87. 87

Re: Cherish R. – I study science, which *is* the advanced class of philosophy. Philosophy is outdated, some even claim it's dead, Stephen Hawking being one of them, and somehow, his reasoning seems more logical than yours. I had the "privilege" to read all of your comments, hence my statement. And if you're impressed by a word as banal as "thus", than you are further behind than I initially thought. You say that you do not condone his behaviour, yet you actively support him, and that's a clear oxymoron. "Labels and judgment". The colour orange is a label, to call it a nice colour is a judgment, by your logic, shall we erase that from our vocabulary too? There is no understanding without what's concrete, the world would be less concrete without labels to judge.
    -
Your rationalization and cognitive dissonance to make your love for an antisocial person with a record of violent behaviour, makes you inconsistent and illogical. I suggest you study something of relevance to this subject, to understand the mechanisms behind human behaviour and the consequences of their actions - yours included.

  88. 88

Re: moxiecrimefighter – and you have every right not to buy it. Definitely not true that if you've been beaten (I have) you wouldn't support him. I did not support him for months following what happened. Even Rihanna has moved on. I understand he's got issues still that he needs to handle but that's not something that from one day to the next you just fix. You're right he made a spectacle and could have harmed people with the window bashing but he was not charged. So he's presumed innocent. He should def understand people will ask about it and learn to deal with it in a gracious manner. I'm not at all condoning his mistakes and I'm not pro wife beaters. But I have empathy for people and being the imperfect humans we all are things cannot be so black and white. For what he did to Rihanna he should have gotten life in prison but he didn't. So that's what I mean by moving on.

Re: MsJules:) We all have opinions and we might not all agree on everything…life would be boring if that was the case. I just wish people would be less hateful and condemning when speaking about one another. A simple, intelligent discussion is all that's needed regardless of the fact that we are anonymous here we're still humans and discussing humans.
