Jennifer Garner IS Miss Marple

Garner Miss Marple

In a normal Hollywood turn of events, the new Miss Marple project is getting a fresher look.

You might remember Miss Marple as the elderly spinster who solved crimes in her spare time, based on Agatha Christie stories. Not this time around, however, because the script is being written to fit someone in their 30's, and that person is Jennifer Garner!

Putting a younger spin on it will definitely hit home with audiences these days, but, that doesn't mean you guys can slack and not give it the proper treatment it deserves! They're classics!

Are we right?? How do U feel about Garner as Marple??

I love Jennifer Garner. I also love Miss Marple. The whole concept is that an elderly woman is "overlooked" by everyone so they can snoop around and find clues to crimes. This concept will be lost with a younger person in the role of Miss Marple. I am not sure if it can work out. I am starting to see why Agatha Christie hated having her books made into movies. They always want to mess with everything that works just fine already.

    Typical Hollywood "ageism" at work.
"…Old bitches aren't sexy, man! And they ain't smart enough to solve crimes! Or make our production company any cash! Let's trash what MADE THE STORY IN THE FIRST PLACE, and get some young chick to play it!"
    (sigh.)

    what is this fuckery?

  6. 6

Why can't they just write a new murder mystery with a 30 year old detective, rather than tarnishing a classic?!?!?!

Gee isn't Jen in her early 40's now. By Hollywood standards that is OLD?

  8. 8

So sad. I like Jennifer Garner a lot, but PLEASE! This is going to be a bust. Miss Marple is an older woman - not a woman in her 30's. Who ever thought this up should be ashamed.

Miss Marple is old, that's just how it needs to be. I'm not old and love Agatha Christie novels to pieces. with Miss Marple. Old.

Re: Patricia Wilson Dunlop – Ditto! Give us Dame Judy Dench or Helen Mirren!

Hope it's wrong. Middle-aged Yank as 'elderly spinster' Brit: blargh.
As bad as Robert Downey as SHerlock.
Brits and Aussies can play yanks, but not the other way ’round. Don't get me started on Gwyneth Paltrow . . .

i LOVE jennifer garner, she's just so adorable. have you seen a commercial where she flashes a smile…it's just the best…it's like who can say no to her. those dimples :)

Another example of Hollywood changing what was already a brilliant story line into something that will surely share next to NO similarities with the original, all for the sake of wanting the 'sex appeal, yo.' I'm sick of movies these days. I haven't seen a hollywood film in at least 8 months. They're all utter crap.

Is this an early April Fools joke? Probably the worst idea to come out of Hollywood in a long time…

I love Jennifer Garner! She can go from acting like a sweet/fun lady in 13 going on 30 to other great roles in movies like in Juno.

Looking forward to this and her on the movie "Arthur" w/ Russel Brand!

Are they REALLY trading in Miss Marple for two, er, one, thirty? Phuck Hollywood for young-sizing these great stories. An integral part of Marple's charm is her learned savvy and wisdom GARNERED with age.

    Oh wtf, Hollywood!
