Edie Falco On Sopranos Movie

edie falco on sopranos movie

We have NOT heard anything about a potential Sopranos movie in a long time! In fact, last time we heard any substantial rumors about it was back in August 09!

Now, Edie Falco has brought up the possibility of a Sopranos movie once again during a recent interview.

Here's what she had to say about whether or not it's happening:

"I'm always the last to know. It's usually my mother that calls and says, 'You guys are doing a movie.'"

"I haven't heard a thing. You know, it could go either way."

Okay, so that doesn't help us out TOO much, but at least we know that the project isn't 100% dead. Also, based on her answer, it sounds like Edie would be up for it if they decided to make a movie.

We're just glad to hear it mentioned…the series' ending wasn't really conclusive. We're thinking serious Lost Sopranos fans would like a few more questions answered before it's time to fully move on.

Would U still like to see a Sopranos movie? Or has it been too long?

I would love to see a Sopranos movie. You are right the series was not conclusive and I love Eddie Falco as Toni's wife.

    Whoops, I meant Edie Falco.

  7. 7

I would bend over backwards to see a Sopranos movie made.

The series was conclusive. Tony was whacked. David Chase has alluded to this. No movie.

  9. 9

It will never happen. The ending was conclusive. Tony was killed. Google David Chase Sopranos Ending. He has done several interviews and goes into great detail about the ending.

It will never happen. Tony is dead. Google "David Chase Sopranos Ending". He answers definitively that Tony was killed in the final scene.

In that scene, mob boss Tony Soprano waited at a Bloomfield ice cream parlor for his family to arrive, one by one. What was a seemingly benign family outing was shot and cut as the preamble to a tragedy, with Tony suspiciously eyeing one patron after another, the camera dwelling a little too long on Meadow's parallel parking and a man in a Members Only jacket's walk to the men's room. Just as the tension had been ratched up to unbearable levels, the series cut to black in mid-scene (and mid song) with no resolution.

"Anybody who wants to watch it, it's all there," says Chase, 61, who based the series in general (and Tony's relationship with mother Livia specifically) on his North Caldwell childhood.

Some fans have already assumed that the ambiguous ending was Chase setting up the oft-rumored "Sopranos" movie, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards.
