Grey's Big, Fat, Gay Wedding Coming In May

| Filed under: TV NewsGay Gay GayPatrick DempseyEllen PompeoEric DaneLGBT

Oh, and there might be more than one!

If you watched last night's musical episode of Grey's Anatomy, you know that Callie accepted Arizona's proposal of marriage after enduring a very trying and traumatic day. Well, expect to feast your eyes upon the lovely ladies' lesbian nuptials on May 5th - and don't expect it to be drama free!

According to sources, the wedding is going to be a nightmare for one of the brides as Callie has to deal with repercussions of her family's lack of acceptance of the union. For some twisty reason undivulged at the time, Hector Elizondo will be reprising his role as Callie's father for the occasion, but he won't be walking her down the aisle. The bearer of this bad news will be Callie's mother, Lucia Torres, played by Gina Gallego, who starts trouble for her daughter on arrival. Sara Ramirez explained to sources:

“What’s really beautiful about this episode is that there is a moment where Callie is really kind of doubting herself and her life and the choices that she’s made. To pick this person to be with for the rest of her life is not received well by her mother and that presents a real difficulty for her because I think she looks to her mother for some kind of emotional embracing around this whole event.”

Well, she might not get the love she wants from her mother, but she sure will get it from her co-workers, especially Mark Sloan (played by Eric Dane…Yum!) who Sara reveals ends up walking her dow the aisle as Dr. Miranda Bailey officiates.

But there is one more twist in the story that we feel inclined to mention. According to reports, two very significant characters were missing from the scene when the ladies shot their wedding - Meredith and Derek!

Could their absence of sign of big things to come for the show's main match? Could they possibly be getting hitched as well on the show! We'll just have to wait and see.

We didn't much care for last night's musical episode, but perhaps this big, emotional overload hour will make up for it.

I don't even watch the show but your 'headline' gave it all away. From now on can you just put SPOILER ALERT: GREY'S ANATOMY instead of giving out the spoiler in the damn "warning"?? You really know how to ruin things for people.

To Bibety: Who is the lunatic? You that is…spewing your hate and ignorance….who raised you? what backward town were you raised in and where do you live? Obviously, you do not get out much to have such narrow views….people like you need to open your mind and your heart….if you want to cling on to outdated and ignorant ways of thinking, your choice….HOWEVER, once you spew it publically it is my right to say: SHUT UP AND KEEP YOUR IGNORANCE TO YOURSELF….STOP HATING…your life will be much happier….now crawl back under your rock….thank you.

I think last night's musical episode was phucking phenominal! It was brilliant, and the writers deserve an Emmy for it.
Shame on you Perez for not seeing it for the art that it was

You didn't like the episode?! :O
I didn't either, but I kinda expected it before it even started… and I was actually surprised that it didn't suck as much as I was expecting.

Mer and Der "married" by post-it note in season 5.

Re: Wendy Brown – I loved it! Great job done by the cast!

I wasn't looking forward to the musical episode, but when watched it, thought it was great, very well played out and Sara's voice in incredible.

Dang, the musical eppy was a disaster. The storyline was fantastic, the music part sucked big time. If they would of just had Sara singing while watching what was going on with/to her it would of been tolerable but having all the other singing was awful. Stupid. This is a drama, not a musical. If they ever do that again I will not watch and for those of you who did like it, you must be teeney boppers or in your 20's and have not yet matured.

The cast did AMAZING. . .and the story-line was so bold to show the importance and the value of that little babies life. And how much it means to the family. You must be heartless if you didn't like it.

Seen this before. Friends explored the same storyline years ago. Ross' ex-wife Susan married her girlfriend and her parents were unsupportive, so in a moment of unselfishness and compassion Ross walked his ex down the aisle.

Aww perez! That musical episode was fantastic!! How can we not love Sara Ramirez?? I thought it was wonderfully done and fun, all the while tackling such deep emotional situations! I dare say it was my favorite episode since that amazing finale last year!

One more comment. Why is this idiot homophobe on perez's site to begin with? His presence here is one of two things. 1. He is a bored 13 year old. 2. Somebody has a few gay tendecies that he can't deal with!!

I thought Derek and Meredith were already married
