mad men renewed for three more seasons

Cherish these next three seasons, Don Draper fans.

Earlier this week, we were still waiting to hear whether or not Mad Men show creator Matthew Weiner would take AMC's $30 million offer to continue with the show.

Now, it looks like he's taken the offer. Here's what he had to say about it:

"I'm thrilled."

"I walked away from it 4-5 times in the last few days. It's never been about money. I wanted to do the show I wanted to do and the show the audience has come to expect."

And here's what Weiner had to say about the future of Mad Men:

"These will be the last 3 seasons of the period drama. I'm going to take it one year at a time without the distraction to ever have to go through this again. I'm incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support and overwhelmed that I get to finish telling the stories I want to tell."

We're sure Mad Men fans will be sad when this show is gone, but at least there are three more guaranteed seasons. And who knows? Matthew Weiner could always change his mind…

Are U excited to hear that Mad Men is coming back for three more seasons?

hate to spoil your pixie dust but the show's creator matthew weiner had his whole career handed to him after the complete failure of his first shoetring independent feature film about fifteen years ago. who else goes from a sundance rejection and zero distribution to getting signed by a huge a-list agent and immediately plugged into an enormous producing career? must be nice - it's entirely WHO YOU KNOW. another connection prick gets a big payday… zzzzzzzz, you're boring me.

    I, for one, am thrilled.
Thank you, Matt Weiner, for holding your ground.
So, I guess I can live with 45 minute episodes, though I am upset about the potential product placement. I mean, how tacky.
God willing, I will be there in March 2012.
