Rebecca Black To Possibly Sue Her Creators Producers At Ark Music Factory
Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Sue the shizz out of it instead!
Word is that the 13-year-old internet singing sensation Rebecca Black is considering filing a lawsuit against the producers of her hit song Friday.
A letter from a lawyer on the behalf of Rebecca and her mother Georgina Marquez Kelly accuses the producers of copyright infringement and unlawful exploitation of her likeness and song on YouTube, iTunes, Amazon, and Ark's website.
The plaintiffs are also alleging the hit-makers at Ark never gave them master copies of Friday and sold an unauthorized ringtone of the song.
Not cool, guys! After all, that's what Rebecca's mom paid $2,000 for, isn't it?
However, Ark Music founder Patrice Wilson says differently, explaining:
"I have met with Rebecca Black's mom and everything is fine. She will get the masters and the song. They can have it all."
We hate to see another legendary musical partnership part ways at the peak of their creative collaboration, but it's probably for the best.
Rebecca has since signed with another an actual record company, but Ark still has their #2 hit machine, Jenna Rose, to fall back on.
Do U think its fair for Rebecca to sue Ark Music Factory and more importantly, how excited are U to hear Rebecca's next monster hit LOL?!

Hi Perez, Jenna Rose isn't a part of Ark - she's actually got her own imdb page, and her music is produced by Richie Cannatta, who is Billy Joel's sax player I guess. Jenna is in NYC, while Ark is out of California. She has quite an acting resume, and has her own Youtube acct, with several fairly good songs. After you had her vid up for that 'My Jeans' song, I was surprised to NOT see her on Ark, and after quite a bit of googling, found this: www.jennaswerdlow.com/

I hate to say it (especially after the OMG video fiasco), but she might be more talented than any of those auto-tuned Ark kids who's parents paid to become pop stars, and it looks like she is pretty well managed without having to PAY Ark for anything.

I feel that Rebecca Black is extremely stupid. Yeah it is really nice of her that she is donating all of this money to Japan and her Highschool. But i honestly do not feel that her next single "Lol" is going to do nearly as good as this one. She is going to fade into Teeny Bopper Obscurity. 1) Although it was widely reported that Rebecca's mother paid around $2,000 for the song package, it was later confirmed to be $4,000.
2)ARK will give her the song. According to Wikipedia, "The singer owns the master recording, and ARK retains publishing rights to the song." And as you just read, Patrice himself said that he's going to give it to her.
3) This is old news. Other websites were talking about this days ago.
4) Artists usually don't stay with ARK after their song is finished. People usually just use it as a platform, and then move on. So not only is it very common for the kids to leave soon after, it's almost expected of them.
5) Jenna Rose?? Don't you mean Alana Lee?? Or even Abby Victor?? Besides Rebecca (who's face has now been taken off of their "artists" page), Alana is the one who seems to be their bread and butter right now. Like Rebecca, Jenna's no longer listed as one of their exclusive artists.

because the record industry just copies whatever is selling until it doesnt sell anymore than moves onto the next (like little kids at a soccer game who just chase the ball around in a giant cluster) these kids really believe that just being pretty and playing a character (slut, cool kid, fashion kid, street kid, club kid etc) is all it takes. they think autotune is just how you sing. they dont realize people used to only be able to be a muscian/singer when they could actually sing or play. Or that once upon a time people couldnt pay money to have other people write their songs. (well it was done but not nearly as across the board as it is now.) motown had a office of people writing songs for their artist but those artists could actually sing and sometimes play really well. anyhow, this musical culture today kids see it and all they see is…beyounce is rich has fancy cloths guys want to f#@k her and she is on tv. thats all they want when they say "ive always been into music" no you have always been into fame and attention and not having to work for the good things in life. enter rebecca black. one of her label mates at ark said "im gonna sing a cover of ava maria by beyounce" really beyounce. so i am gonna cover every breath you take by puff daddy.
I just barely watched the music video, and all I can say about it is America needs to get some real taste in talent. its pathetic that this no talent girl is famous now because of that dumb song. its almost sickening.
