Darren Criss To Return For A Very Potter Threequel?! Yes?! No?!

Answer: No. Whomp, whomp.

Some of you, like us, might know Darren Criss from his previous work before Glee. You might remember him from Eastwick or some of his solo shows he used to do around town. Then again, you might also know him as Harry Potter…as in, the kid who played Harry Potter in the Team Starkid production of A Very Potter Musical.

For those of you who don't know, Darren was once a viral sensation when he and this theater troupe from the University of Michigan wrote and starred in a musical adaptation of the book series which became a huge hit, and if we may say so, was very funny. It spawned a sequel shortly before Darren's career took off with Glee and there was hope that a third adaptation would make it's way to Ann Arbor this summer. However, according to the troupe, Darren's schedule is "just too booked" and the group has already started on some other projects without him.

C'est la vie! We can understand people's disappointment and the timing would have been perfect to resurrect the show (with the actual Harry Potter movie franchise coming to a close.) Still, you can't hold to big of a grudge on the guy for making it big. This is his moment. He should enjoy it.

But hopefully, he doesn't also forget where he came from….that's important too.

uh, why not? perez has every right to talk about starkid, just like you. stop being such a dick.

    Starkid!! :)
I'm glad Darren has this wonderful opportunity to be on Glee. He would be a fool to turn down a chance to be on such a well known show. But I wish he was with Starkid more. I really hope that he'll get the chance to come back and do another Potter Musical and/or other productions with the rest of the amazing Starkids!
We need more Lauren Lopez as Draco Malfoy!

Perez Hilton is talking about STARKID. Darren is rubbing elbows with the likes of Paris Hilton. What is happening??

If AVPM3 doesn't happen, than Joey Richter, Joe Walker, and Lauren Lopez better be on GLEE!

Lol perez dont act like you know Starkid. I doubt you have watched AVPM and AVPS.

Nooo! :( And why did you cut off Joe Walker? He makes a fabulous Umbridge

Re: xoxoj – That's literally just the picture they use, because otherwise I'm pretty sure Perez would be all over everything Joe Walker.

Not going to lie, I squeed so hard when I saw this picture here.
I mean, it sucks they can't do a third Potter musical, but I'm holding out that maybe they'll just postpone it (because a few Starkids did say in an interview with PotterCast from The Leakey Cauldron site that they had a story idea - and I'm desperately hoping it would mean Joe Walker playing Lockhart).
But I highly doubt Darren is going to ditch all those friends because there is way too much love in that project.

At least we still have Starship to look forward to…right?

Re: Katiedora – In another article Julia (she plays crabbe) said that the project of AVPT was just postponed, but that they weren't throwing it out completely. A few of the other starkids said that although they had originally hoped to put out the musical out before the last HP film came out, they know that they won't be able to know with Darren's Glee schedule, but that they weren't getting rid of the idea for good.

This has been a heated topic between StarKids for a long time, heck, even Brolden is tired of it. During the C2E2 meet and greet, he specifically ruled out any "Threequel queries" during the Q&A portion.
Yes, it saddens us StarKids that the probability of having a AVPT is slimming, but I believe Brolden when he said in one of his interviews that StarKid doesn't close their doors to any opportunity & said something about doing AVPT for next year if that's possible.
Yes, Darren is caught up in his busy Glee sched, but Darren wants to be in AVPT as much as we want him to be. The fact that he celebrated his 24th bday w/ the StarKids proved that he knows where he came from and he values us, StarKids.

"But hopefully, he doesn't also forget where he came from….that's important too." The fact that this just IMPLIES Darren could EVER forget makes me upset. Yeah, right. This is the man who texted Dylan during the C2E2 panel to say "I'm at my cousin's wedding, but tell everyone there [the fans] that I say hi!". He's the one who is still incredibly humble about everything that's happened. He few all of his good guy friends out to Vegas to "celebrate his birthday", but when he talked about it, he worded it as "our birthdays and Starship". (Since Joe Walker and Jim Povolo also have early February birthdays.) He spent his own birthday WITH his StarKid friends. These guys, as Julia Albain mentions in her recent book, are a creative family. There is no way he could "forget" and the implication here makes me feel sick.

    Like us?
    Like us.
    Really?
    Really.
I shake my head at you. Truly.
The very first sign that you aren't, and I quote, "Like us" is the fact that you stated that Darren wrote AVPM. He wrote the songs and helped with the story, yes, but he isn't the sole creator of the viral parody as you make it seem.
The second sign is the very last line. (Abuse of punctuations, much? But I digress.)
Darren has done nothing to even suggest that he's forgotten his roots.
Mentioning his brother/friends/Starkid every other tweet
    Playing Disney/Starkid songs at gigs
Celebrating his birthday with his college friends
Wearing his pink sunglass that he bought at Ann Arbor, if I recall correctly. (Need I remind you that you once called them tacky.)
