Donald Trump Is The GOP's Second Choice - Seriously?!

What started out as a joke now seems to be becoming a reality…and we're flabbergasted.

According to a new poll, the early front-runner for the Republican nomination for president in 2012 is Mitt Romney. Coming in as a close second - real estate developer, socialite and Celebrity Apprentice host Donald Trump.

We can see the campaign now: "Obama, you're fired!"

Welcome to the world in which we live!

Would U actually vote for The Donald for President.

Yup, you couldn't get me to the voting center fast enough!

  2. 2

Hell yes! I voted for Obama - and well, as everyone can see he's been worse than Bush. We need a business man, someone outspoken and who has courage. Bring him on! I'll definintely vote for Donald.

  3. 3

I'd rather have the Donald as prez for 40 years than have Barry Obama as prez for 4 days. At least Donald Trump doesn't hate America like Barry. At least Donald was born in the US unlike Barry. Barry, have fun with the government shut down tomorrow. I love the legacy you're leaving: oil spills you do jack shit about, health care you ram down our throats, your very own war for oil and now the government shut down. YAY for legacies!

The sad thing is he may have a chance in the USA. The US idolizes so called celebs too much, I mean look at the Carlos Estevez following, insane.

  5. 5

This dude is a million times better then crazy Palin, No matter Obama is in for a 2nd term 1-million %

  6. 6

Wow I guess the republican party really has no more competent people left if Donald Trump is someone they are actually supporting. Trump and Palin…looks like the democrats have 2012 in the bag.

  7. 7

I'd vote for him in a second.

  8. 8

I voted Libertarian last time around…but if Trump runs I will not hesitate to vote for Obama this time around. Pretty sure President Trump would lose the US any credibility it has.

That said, from everything I've read there are far better Republican candidates out there. Mitt Romney being one of them.

The GOP sure likes to make a joke out of elections don't they. I'm pretty sure they have more competent people but unfortunately for them the base won't go for it. The reason Donald is in second is because he went with that ridiculous birth certificate thing and the base eats that shit up.

ovbiously no one watched the interview this morning on the today show. sure, he's in hollywood, but so was reagan! WATCH THE INTERVIEW people before you cast judgements. he actually sounds like he knows what he's talking about, WITHOUT someone writing a script for him. the idea sounds far fetched, i get it. but when he talks about putting this country first and getting the f*ck out of libya….i think he's on to something! he also stated he wants to build school and take care of this country, not catering to the needs of every other country. when was the last time we heard that?

  13. 13

He is a million times better then crazy Palin and his chances of betting Obama are next to Zero % Obama will be reelected with a 65% my money is on it. Donald is a loud mouth broke yes broke Moron.

  14. 14

    I'd vote for him!
But I wish he would take some of that $ & hire a stylist!

  15. 15

i would vote for the donald before i would vote for obama.

  16. 16

Yes. I think he knows what hes talking about.

  17. 17

Not a chance. If he runs, it proves exactly how stupid this country is. Does GOP not have any intelligent, educated individuals to run for President? I'm not voting for any reality show trash.

  18. 18

Yup, not only can I, I will!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. 19

I would so vote for trump, I think its just what this country needs.

  20. 20

Umm, no, I would not vote for him. Nor would I vote for anything Republican or Tea Party. There is a place for reality TV stars, and it isnt in the white house.

  21. 21

hey trump, instead of spewing all yer hot air about the birth certificates, why not tell us how u will fix our country. this party is done

  22. 22

Why not? Ronald Reagan was a movie star who went on to become one of the most iconic US presidents ever. I'm not saying "I will" or "I won't", but I'd be willing to give the Donald a chance and hear him out. It's not fair to discredit him because he's famous or on TV because it tends to make us ignore "why". He's a brilliant businessman who built an empire from the ground up. He obviously has the smarts, the will power, and the business savey. Love him or hate him, it's impossible to deny that the man has incredible presence. I think he'd be a very valid candidate. Whether or not he wins depends on the campaign he runs.

Point being: If he wants to run for president, more power to him.

PS: I can totally see "Obama, you're fired!" happening. Even if he doesn't win, I'm pretty sure that'll be a line for the ages.

  23. 23

I would vote for Donald Duck over NObama at this point!

  24. 24

Obama is going to go down as the worst President since Jimmy Carter. His qualifications exisited of being a shakedown artist in Chicago. It was poetic to see him and Sharpton side by side. Too peas in a pod. I can't stand Trump but he certainly would be an improvement over the clown we have in offfice

  25. 25

people who are saying he is dumb etc, yes he maybe a celebrity but remember why he is a celebrity, the man started out as a cab driver and look where he is now. He is an amazing businessman and thats something we need

  26. @v@ says – reply to this

What kind of invisible ink is this? Ron Paul AGAIN won the CPAC Presidential straw poll this year by a country mile, with 30% opposed to Mitt Romney's 23%. Last year, Ron Paul had 31%, with Romney at 22%.

  27. 27

No way in HELL would I vote for him. If you look up the word trump on Merriam Websters Dictionary online, it says: trump: a sound of or as if of trumpeting
Donald Trump is a sensationalistic showman who will turn the USA into a caricature of itself and probably be proud of having done so!
When he runs into financial trouble with the country, will he declare it bankrupt?
His sole purpose is to stir things up- and that he has done. Now, get a real contender in there so this country can move forward.

  28. 28

ALSO, he has been going on about this whole birth certificate thing like it's some scandal then tried to be all high and mighty making a big production of releasing his own- which then proved to be fake itself! Not doctored fake, per say, but not the Original, REAL deal. (on a side note, don't these people realize that when President Obama was vetted that would have included such documents as his birth certificate?) So, if that's any indicator of how he runs things- what happens when the chips are down and he shoots his mouth of and is then required to live up to it? What will he do out there in the big wide world? What bluffs will he pull and what will he do when he gets caught? I certainly don't want that man representing me. I'd take Bush back over this preening buffoon!

  29. 29

How many people voted for Obama because of his skin colour? I say a big 'DOH!' to those people. So many of which are now disappointed with him. Hilary Clinton should have won the Democrat leadership and thereby have run for President. She'd have won that too! People got swayed thinking only of getting a black man in office, not considering if he is the Right one. Like somehow his skin colour would magically fix things and make it all better. It's as though people are trying to get one of every flavour to sit in office. Ok, well then, how about let's have a Hispanic woman run things next. Personally I'd like President David Palmer from 24 to run the country! He was GOOD! :-) Dennis Haysbert's insurance commercials make me WANT to buy it! What's he doing these days? Maybe he should run!

  30. 30

I do not understand how anyone could possibly think that Obama was more qualified 4 years ago than Donald Trump is today. Trump has actually run a business and I guess he has done pretty well since he's worth about 3 billion. What were Obama's qualifications 4 years ago-community organizer for groups like ACORN,an academic with a law degree,State Rep for one of the most corrupt states in the union,Illinois, and a US.Senator for 2 years, where he voted "present" numerous times.

  31. 31

If it was between him and Obama….hell yes!! At least he understands that you can't/shouldn't spend money we don't have. That would be a START!

  32. 32

Obama is very beatable in 2012, and for the sake of the country he needs to go. But the GOP has yet to put up a candidate anyone can get excited about. I bet we get another parade of old, fat, white, rich guys. If that's what the country wanted, then McCain would be in the White House right now. Damn GOP, learn a lesson!

  33. 33

Re: @v@ – Ron Paul Supporters attend CPAC religously, so that is why his numbers were high. Ron Paul thinks outside of the box especially when it comes to taxes. His idea about simplifying the tax code to prevent large corporations like GE, from paying 0 tax dollars. He is a problem solver and he has political courage. He stands by his principles and he doesn't bow down to the Republican establishment.

  34. 34

I guess I had a lot to say! meh. whatever. ;-p

  35. 35

I'd vote for my dog before Trump and his bad combover

  36. 36

Eldridge, keep drinking that Faux Noise kool-aid

  37. 37

I'm against wasteful government spending and the welfare state so I would never vote for BO.

  38. 38

    Re: heres2u526

Exactly! I thought that interview was epic.

  39. 39

Wait! Isn't this the guy who declares bankruptcy every 7 years and then turns around and starts a new business or property? And the American people have to foot the bill. The one poster was right - it will show right where this country is headed. Good luck. You vote for him and he wins, you deserve everything you get.

  40. 40

NO! I would not vote for him. I'm pissed Obama extended the taxes for the richest American's but I'm willing to let that slide. I would not vote for Trump if you just listen to him talk and what he says it is a bunch of BS. I would never vote for the crazy right wing or anything to do with the "Tea Party". Obama the worst president?????…MAN…people have a very very short memory span….BUSH and his group left us with this mess. I can't believe you people would think things would change over night. Not to mention The Republic Party is actually fighting for things that will never benefit you or me only the rich…Like the "Oil companies". You people are in for a RUDE AWAKEN!

  41. 41

Hell yeah I'd vote for him.

  42. 42

Re: MRSMOMOA – BUSH and his group left us with this mess…yea how about geitner and barney fugg…..hows the housing market doing…..

  43. 43

ummmmm, how many times has he filed bankruptcy? if he can't manage his own money how's he going to manage OUR money? I wouldn't vote for this moron in a million yrs!
