The Crow Gets A NEW Director

| Filed under: Film FlickersMark WahlbergBusiness Blitz

28 weeks later director to take on the crow

Back in October, we heard that Mark Wahlberg was up for the lead role in The Crow reboot, which had The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen's Stephen Norrington attached to direct…at the time.

Now, we've learned that Norrington is no longer attached to the project, and instead 28 Weeks Later's Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will now direct.

We've also learned that a new writer is reportedly being brought in. The previous draft of the script was written by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.

This has really become a completely different project. It's like they're rebooting the reboot!

…Guess we probs won't be seeing Marky Mark in this one anymore.

How do U feel about all the recent changes to The Crow reboot? Do U think the 28 Weeks Later director is right for the project?

'league of extraordinary gentlemen' was terrible in my opinion, so a director change may be good.
'the crow' an excellent movie, and much like 'arthur', will likely be a pale remake.

I think people need to learn how to be original and stop doing "reboots" and "remakes", where is the creativity people!! Your not really using up any talent by tweaking a film thats already been made. The original Crow was great , just leave it alone!!! smh

God, I hope they don't use Mark Wahlberg in this movie. He is so not right for that role.

I don't think they should remake The Crow in the first place. NOBODY can replace Brandon Lee. That movie is perfect!

Re: stickratRe: DeliciousKrisRe: Christik – You are all right. I love the original movie. It was done so well, so I don't see a purpose in a "reboot". If they do decide to do it, though, I hope to hell that they choose an actor that would fit the role. Mark Wahlberg is not exactly the best choice for the part. Hollywood is so unoriginal these days. I think that they need to cut these people's salaries, then see if it helps their creativity by having to actually use their imaginations.

People are really fuckin stupid. If something is perfect (ex The Crow) you don't fuck with it!

The whole project is a fucking joke. The first one was well-nigh perfect.

Thanks for the unnecessary reboot. I'll pass.

WHY THE FLIPPIN HELL ARE THEY REMAKING SOMETHING THAT'S ALREADY PERFECT… HOLLYWOOD HAS BECOME A BUNCH OF TALENTLESS HACKS!

I don't know why they're even considering remaking such a classic but if they're so creatively bankrupt that they have to piss on Brendan's legacy, good luck to them. Since the original was so perfect they have their work cut out for them.

There are some things that really should be left alone. the original Crow was beautiful, one of the best films ever made and I was obsessed with it as a teenager. The sequels were gradually worse and worse until that jaw droppingly ridiculous last one with David Boreanaz and Tara Reid. I challenge you to try watching that one without laughing.
Just stop trying - perfection was achieved in the first one.

Does nobody in Hollywood have any imagination? Why are they redoing The Crow? It was a great movie with Brandon Lee.
