Jessica Simpson has always been a huge supporter of American troops, but after a personal invitation from First Lady Michelle Obama, she's getting the opportunity to sing about it!
The 30-year-old singer will perform for military families on April 13 at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, during a baseball game between the Colorado Rockies and New York Mets.
Jessica sounds very excited and gracious for the chance to give back to the families of America's military, explaining:
"[The First Lady] asked me to sing for the troops. That's a huge honor for me. Just to be there and show my support and say thank you."
The event is part of Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden's national two-day tour, which a statement says is designed to:
"highlight the work of Americans who have answered the call to serve our military families to showcase ways all Americans can serve them, from teachers and business leaders, to neighbors and volunteers."
During the tour, the Presidential wives will travel to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, San Antonio, Texas, and Columbus, Ohio as well.
Sounds like an awesome way to give back to those families who have already given so much to our country! We're sure Jessica will do great!
