And Superman's General Zod Is…

Last month, we were pleased to report that Boardwalk Empire/Revolutionary Road actor Michael Shannon was up for an unknown villainous role in the new Superman.
Now, Warner Bros has officially announced that Shannon has been cast as baddie General Zod in Superman: Man of Steel!
Here's what director Zack Snyder had to say about Shannon as Zod:
“Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role.”
Despite receiving the Best Supporting Actor Oscar nom for Revolutionary Road in 2008, Shannon hasn't been given that many chances to truly prove himself on the big screen. This will be a major opportunity for him.
Good luck, Michael!
