Some Pi For Tobey Maguire

He's officially handed off his spidey-senses to a new generation, but Toby Maguire is getting back into the movie game with a new, more dramatic picture.

Tobey has been cast in the film adaptation of the Ang Lee novel-to-film adaptation of Life of Pi for Fox. He'll play the reporter who interviews the story's main character as a man as he recalls his extreme childhood experience of surviving a shipwreck on a lifeboat with a zebra, an orangutan, a hyena and a tiger.

Doesn't sound like Tobey got the best role in the flick, but hey, what can you do?

We're thinking that this flick along with his role in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby for Warner Bros. could get Tobey back in the A-list game.

U agree?

Ang Lee didn't write Life of Pi—– it is a brilliant Novel by Canadian Yann Martel.

  2. 2

Perez, Life of Pie was written by Yann Martel, not Ang Lee.

  3. 3

Ang Lee is a director. That book is written by Yann Martel.

Ang Lee didn't write Life Of Pi you fing moron!

All those hats he has been wearing to cover his bald head has affected his ability to actually research before posting.

Who are we kidding…when has Mario ever really researched anything before posting?

  6. 6

well i WAS gonna point out ang lee didnt write the thing but it seems everyone beat me to the punch. do you mean ang lee is directing it or something?

You mean Ang Les's adaptation of the novel Life of Pi. Yann Martel is the author!

I obviously don't need to point out the mistake you made about Ang Lee authoring the novel. This statement, "Doesn't sound like Tobey got the best role in the flick…" just proves you don't know a fucking thing about the book. Tell your sister or your mom or whoever wrote this to do two minutes of research before posting.

Baz Luhrman's Great Gatsby will be a big flop, as most remakes usually are.

"Ang Lee novel"…. OMG… you should be shot Perez… Life of Pi is a best seller written by Yann Martel… you uncultured twat!!! Pick up a book sometime.

thank GOD he wasn't cast as Pi….this was an amazing novel and I would hate to see hollywood's crappy version of it.

Re: Gilbert Bumpucker – hopefully it'll be somewhat better than the 1974 version, which was pretty meh (except for the costumes which were fabuloussss; and the cast, obviously).

uuuuuhhm, there's no other role a white guy COULD play, so i think he did pretty well

What the fuck? And I LOVE how you're commenting on how his role is, when you don't even know who wrote the book. Just FYI, it's Yann Martel, it's a brilliant book.. and Ang Lee is a film director, I'm sure you'd know he directed one of your (or probably your favorite) film, Brokeback Mountain.

Seriously, read a book sometime. It won't kill you, it'll probably make you sound at least a little educated.

Really?? Ok whoever writes this needs to do some research before they start talking out their ass. "Doesn't sound like Tobey got the best role in the flick, but hey, what can you do?" Well the book takes place mostly on a boat with two characters, a young Indian boy and a tiger. And most of the other characters are Indian. Way to sound out of touch with actual culture as usual.
