Potter Documentary Being Worked

Great news!

For those of you who have this looming sense of dread that this summer's conclusion of Harry Potter will be the last you see of him for quite some time, you can put those worries to rest.

There is a documentary about the movies being made as we speak — and they started capturing content all the way back in 2001's first feature! Wow!

Here's what it'll be like according to David Barron, a producer for the project:

"He went behind the scenes and had incredible access to talent and crew and has made a documentary that is not yet complete, which shows the challenges of making the film - the tolls it takes on actors and crew. It's not just pure gloss and everybody's happy. It's real… At the same time, it's really, really funny.

It was a very well-documented production. We had a crew filming behind the scenes for the entire production, which is unheard of - and that's been for all the films. There is material, and we'll see how it's used. I'm sure Warner Bros. will package it in some form or another."

Sounds pretty incredible to us. We watched the Potter stars grow up in front of our eyes, and it'll be super cool to see the story behind that and the struggle with having a childhood defined by working on a movie.

We can't wait to see it!

How about U??

Yes, Perez, I am excited, but is this documentary all new footage, or just a collage of every single behind the scenes video that they have already showed on the regular DVD, Blu-Ray DVD and now the "ultimate blu-ray" DVD, which basically has every deleted scene, movie scene or behind the scene video you could ever want to see…?

If it's new, then I'm uber excited, I can't wait for this! If it's just a mash-up of what we've seen… Ok, I'm probably going to watch it anyway. It's easier than having to pop in numerous different DVDs to see all of them.

I think this sounds like such an interesting project! Obviously, they are totally going to cash in if they make a documentary about Potter, but some of the greatest things in the past years have been all the behind-the-scenes stuff that gets released with DVDs and whatnot. So much went into this series, that I really hope it gets made.

@eyeh8twilight: That's what I'm wondering. If it REALLY is new information/footage, GREAT! But, I have a feeling it's just going to be a compliation of footage that we've already seen in the "extras".

Excellent!! I hope they mean actual footage that hasn't been seen before. They've shown snippets on the DVDs and on tv shows through the years, and I hope they don't mean they are just going to have a montage of that and then have people discussing it– boring!! I would like to see some bloopers and actual behind the scenes stuff with the actors and crew through the years. That would be something worth seeing.

Everything about the Harry Potter movies is magical, so I'm excited to see how they brought everything together. I'm definitely getting it if/when it comes out.
