Robin Williams Bombing On Broadway

These are the kind of numbers that can cause a show to close fairly quickly and swiftly.

Last week, Robin Williams' latest Broadway venture, Bengal Tiger At The Bagdhad Zoo only played to 52% capacity. That means for every performance last week, HALF of the audience was missing.

If these numbers don't go up, or worse, start to decline, the show is in real danger of going under.

Sounds like no one can make a Broadway show work these days, not even vets like Robin!

Does that make you feel any better, Julie Taymor?

The show wasn't good. Robin couldn't even save it.

Really? Matt Stone and Trey Parker seem to be doing just fine.

He can be a stunning performer. You win some, you lose some. When money's tight, the bare basics come first. Sometimes word of mouth can help, but that takes time. That's also a bit of a strange title, but shouldn't matter all in all. Not enough press?

52% show up for Robin Williams, a brilliant actor, in a legitimate play. Standing room only for Charlie Sheen and his ranting…IDIOCRACY!

    Quickly and swiftly? Both?

The name alone makes me lose interest in it because it sounds like yet another of Hollywood's attempts to convince us the war in Iraq was a bad idea. It's over. We won. Get over it.
