kelly ripa not happy about all my children cancellation

You are NOT alone, Kelly!

Former All My Children alum Kelly Ripa is not happy about the show's cancellation.

Here's what she said when she first heard about ABC's plans to cancel the show:

"All My Children means so much more to me than any place, because [Mark and I] met there, we had our children there, it was a big part of our lives, and I think that to cancel a show that has been on television for so many years, what are you going to replace it with? I mean I just don’t know. I just feel like it’s such a training ground for so many actors."

Sorry to hear it, Kelly. The show clearly means a lot to you.

For now, it might be time to treat yourself to a pint of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ben & Jerry's and tune in for some General Hospital.

How will U fill the void now that All My Children is gone? Ice Cream? GH? Some other way???

They're making a HUGE mistake. Soaps do not need to completely fade away. They may not be for everyone, but it's a staple for those who do enjoy it. Is it completely unrealistic? Yes, but it's an escape. I think Brian Frons is a douchbag idiot.

I blame Kelly. It's all her fault. lol

Thank you ABC for finally dumping these outdated, mindless soaps.

Canceled to make room for another mindless talk or reality show that doesn't last. My friend is on a soap and makes about $100,000/yr for learning tons of lines and actually acting. Those a-holes on Jersey Shore are each getting the same amount per show for idk what. It's disgusting.

Id take All My Children and One Life To Live over the planned replacements - another mindless set of "unscripted" (cheap) - anyday.

I am through with ABC. the just gave me 2 more reasons and the last ones to finally never watch anything on ABC again. The soaps were the only thing I watch on that stupid network anymore. Now I can find me some good books and read. Bye bye ABC and thank you Brian Frons for screwing not only the fans, but they way you screwed the actors also. Lying about the soap not getting canceled just a month ago, know full well what you had planned.

I agree, I do not know how normal resonable people with a brain or education can sit through 1 minute of those soap opera…..truly lowest quality….My opinion.

HOW SAD!! I'm a ALL MY CHILDREN FAN. I just wish they would have moved the story lines along faster. Goodbye Erica Kane.

There should be room for the soaps on tv - who needs another food show or beauty tip/fashion show? There's the Style Network and Food network - plus all the other fashion and food shows on other networks. Sad day - the soaps are almost family for some elderly and very lonely people.

so sad-they should name a new ben+jerry's flavor after the show-"all my chips in" or something….

All soap will be gone by 2015. This is a sad, sad day. It's sad a complete genre of entertainment is dying. I grew up with Days and Another World. I know how it feels to lose a show. It may sound silly to non-soap viewers but these characters become family-like when you've watched them for years. Such a sad day.

I have watched AMC for over 20 years, and this is just another reason ABC is on my shit list…. After rewarding Chris Brown and now this…

I'm with Kelly! I've been watching AMC since 6th grade…I recorded it on my VHS lol I got a lot of them!! and now I dvr it! I can't believe they can easily take it away…they say that they are listening to what people want..well they better thing again because we want soaps!!

The downfall of soap operas was the gay story lines. I know a lot of people who stopped watching soaps because they felt that the homosexual agenda was being forced on them and they refused to watch a lifestyle they feel is repulsive, immoral and disgusting.

Re: notmemaw – I totally agree with you. I grew up on those shows. They are a great training ground for actors. Oh, well need to read more anyway. God I hope Michael Easton shows up somewhere on a major show. This sucks!!!

  17. 17

What the hell are they thinking!? I've been watching that show for 10 years, since I was a teen. My mom has watched it since it started. AMC is a daytime staple and I think they're making a huge mistake!

  18. 18

Re: Meggie246624 – ou are clueless!!!

  19. 19

Kelly has no right to comment since she laft the show ages ago.

  20. 20

Let's give it to Nancy Grace. Yea, thats the ticket.

I am very happy about this. Soap Operas are for unmotivated, fat housewives and its time to get rid of them. Of course, I am sure the fat, unmotivated housewives will still sit around stuffing their pudgy faces and something will be on the tv to replace the soaps but oh well….

Re: cruhhjackus – Yeah, an escape from being an unattractive, uneducated fatty.
